Hi Gentlemen,
I was shopping for my personal auto insurance yesterday...and found out from my agent that i was charged with an accident that happened 2 yrs ago.
I was a NO-DAMAGE incident....and quite frankly, i didn't even know that i was being charged. The accident investigator...(not even a Cop) said that i was at fault.
It happened in a parking lot...when i was backing up and a lady was backing up the wrong way. I didn't see her backing up the wrong way...and we bumped.
She got all irate and i was PO too...and we called the police.
What can i do to get this taken off my record?
Will this hurt my chances of getting employed?
Charged with Accident ? ? ?

felony charges, lying about it, now an accident....Wow, just wow.....short answer if it is on your DMV record it might...if its just on your private auto ins. I dunno. I have no idea who your carrier is but if you were charged with an accident your ins. rates would have gone up...or if you have the accident forgiveness deal you still would have been notified of them charging you and then removing the charge from your ins. ....just saying, the lines just don't add up with this one..........
Guntoter Thanks this. -
Pull a copy of your DMV, MVR whatever it's called in your State... if it is listed in there be forthright about it in the application process, if its not on there don't bring it up.

1. I have no felony charges (you are confusing my post with some other poster).
2. My present insurance company (Geico) never notified me of any increase...nor did i get any notice to appear in court...nor was i given a ticket. That is what's confusing. When shopping insurance rates (yesterday) i called Progressive insurance...they told me of the incident. I had forgotten about it since i was not cited nor did my insurance company notify me.
3. I never lied about any charges from my past. If you read my initial post on my other thread...you will see that.
thank you for your input

If an accident happened in a parking lot no tickets would be issued, since the police consider this private property. Only a report would be provided. If you or the lady provided this report to the insurance company, this will show up. In some states you have community police officers that are trained to investigate small minute accidents and write them up. This way regular law enforcement officers can be looking for the bad guys.

Varies by state.
Florida can and will write a ticket on private propery.....
statute numbes here.

I believe this is what happened. No cops...just a community aide from the city came out and wrote a report. My present Insurance company does not see me at fault...but as i said previously, when i went shopping for insurance yesterday, Progressive Insurance said i was charged (which i find amazing because i never got a ticket...nor did i sign anything). -
Look at Infinity Auto Insurance Company. Nobody has been able to beat their rates.

I found out when I moved that I was charged with a accident.
My 5th wheel frame came apart due to crappy workman ship while I was driving down the ALCAN.
The spot welded the frame in the jig and then never finished the welds.
When I noticed something was wrong and the trailer was swaying I pulled over to find the damage and then got it fixed. No harm no foul or so I thought.
State Farm labeled it as a Collision with the road surface.
Since everyone saw the word collision they would not insure me and if they would it was for 3-4 times what I had been paying.
I called my Adjuster who called under writing and they changed the verbiage so now It only doubled by moving to Montana.
I have never had a accident or ticket so this was quite the surprise.
Make a call that was all it took for mine.
