Same thing happened to me selling a 2970......taken down so i called them and WTF? They gave me the illegal stuff so I said what about the others on there.....didn't have any complaints on them so they don't count.....ah ya, uh huh......

So I did a recon of what was there and how it was listed. Mine went right through, no probs. It's how you word it. They have key word software alerting them to hot stuff so avoid the key words.......run your ad just like the other guys do.

    4 on you bud....

What if the radio was modified to cover the CB band to drive a transverter....Would it be illegal on 10M???? I wouldn't think so but I don't know for sure.

It's good to the truck driver that wants 10 watts out of a radio (instead of 4), echo, roger beep, blue lights....and wants it all in one package, as doing the same to a common Cobra 25 would likely cost you more. Also your radio gives you the ability to operate out of the CB band....which can be costly if you don't know what frequency you're on.

I wouldn't fret it....relist it like the others said, just re-word the ad....or try selling it here. Maybe give craigslist a shot.

Why would you need to convert it for cb when transverters use 28mhz for the IF stage or 144mhz for the higher bands

Up untill about 1976 i ran transverters for 2 and 6 meters ..... your right 28 mhz was standard for 144 mhz output ...

FCC at the scales? The FCC does NOT conduct random inspections for CB violations let alone at truck scales. Check the history of the RainReport for enforcement actions. You will not find a single case of the FCC at the scales. It just doesn't happen. The FCC MUST receive a complaint before it will conduct an inspection on a CBer and only AFTER sending an initial warning via the mail to an alleged lawbreaker. The days of the white van cruising around looking for CB outlaws are long gone. These "official observers" have zero authority other to "observe" and report alleged violations to the FCC just like any other non-observer may do.
