Baker Hughes today. Seems promising. Any opinions on the company?

No. The trade off is you work nights.
    Smaller crew as well too.

My brother is running a bulker in RD right now. He could have made more by going to frac, but they weren't hiring at the time he applied but the cementing was.

Trican at Hinton is not hiring class 5 for now. They asked me to wait because they are slow right now. Anyways, I am at Red Deer. If you guys have any tips as to where I should apply first thing in the morning. I will appreciate your help.

cement really isn't that bad, apart from short notice and middle of the night call outs. cement definitely sets better if its mixed in the dark :) having done frac i wouldn't go back to cement. at the same time you learn far more about downhole volume calculations on cement side than you do fraccing. if you move on to almost anything else that skill makes you much more useful.

For those intersted in seeing who else is hiring at the moment, kijiji is your best bet. Search class 1 and you will get a huge number of leads.

Hi. This is my 1st post here and maybe you can help me with some answers.
I'm new to trucking with no experience and I was wondering what is my chance to get a job in the oilfields as a trucker? Also, I wasn't born in Canada but Europe and I'm not sure how friendly are the people in AB with adopted Canadians like me.

Thanks. I could handle that. And I'm definitely good on the data/technical/operations side of things. Wasn't really thinking of cementing but now it seems to be a decent option. Anything is decent to get on board but that sounds solid for the long term.
