Makes for a long day when you don't get unloaded until 1500. Picked up a back haul down the road in Auburn, WA and heading to Phoenix with it for a Monday delivery. That will get me by the house lateeeeeeeeeeeeee tonight for a reset before hitting the road again Sunday afternoon. Will be about 2700 miles and 2 days at home for week 1:) These Las Vegas to Tacoma turn and burns are a pretty sweet run that a guy could get used to at least until the weather gets ######:) Made it to Mountain Home, ID tonight so still got a tad over 600 miles to go to get back to Henderson.

I am really digging this APU. Quite nice to be able to make a quick stop in a rest area and brew some coffee and heat up some food without having to deal with a truck stop.

Thinking of coming over there from Shaffer. Could you tell me how often you don't make back to turn in your bills?Been here at Shaffer a year next month and not getting much in miles. From what you wrote sounds like your out a couple of weeks till you get back. I live in Fl. and Ed Miles told me it would be no problem getting home. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated.
    Thanks dwdog

I average one week a month where I don't get in to turn in my bills before cutoff. Payroll will let you take a personal advance of up to half of your miles run or up to $1000 if you need to get you through till you get paid.

    dwdog Thanks this.

Made it back to the home terminal just a few minutes before the stroke of midnight and my freightshaker turned into a pumpkin:) Did have to change a taillight bulb out before I went home so I wouldn't have to deal with that when I head out on Sunday. Another 600+ mile day.

Picked up an order of one of my late night favorites (rolled tacos) and washing it down with a couple of cold ones before hitting the sack. Been a real good first week.

Where you run will dictate how often you have a chance to turn in paperwork. Running the NW is the worst area for this. Also, if you want your stop count to continue untill you return to your home terminal this will have an effect on how often you turn in paperwork. What Chemster wrote about personal advances is correct. Just remember Poly is not perfect, but the pluses far outweigh the minuses, at least for me. Coming from Shaffer to Poly will certainly increase your miles. Good luck.

Rolled down to Phoenix from the house yesterday afternoon and made my delivery this morning. No message from back haul for 3.5 hours or so and then they called and said they couldn't find a load to just go ahead and head on back to Henderson. So not too bad as it is another 275 miles and another day through the house and very likely another Washington run tomorrow:)

Another Coleman cooler went out on me so I decided to buy a 3.3 cubic foot mini fridge freezer for the truck and see if it works. Didn't say the wattage but I figure if the inverter will power my 900W microwave it will likely be able to handle the fridge, I hope so anyway as getting tired of replacing these coolers.

Yup....I just had another cord melt on mine. I'm pretty much done with coolers. Anymore, all I keep in 'em is milk and some sandwich fixins. Milk I can buy as I need it....and I can change my sandwich preferences.
