Thanks. Well this thread is titles from beginning...I may as well give you the end. I just contacted my fleet manager to let him know the situation. I returned my truck to the rockport, IN terminal. Just had to clean out my truck and hand in my keys. I haven't heard anything back yet. They do offer you a bus ticket home which was nice, I had arranged my own way home before I knew this.
Funny story about the trip home. I got mostof my stuff out of my truck at home in PA then my girlfriend followed me to rockport, which is about a 600mi trip. She is driving a 6 cyl toyota rav 4 which if anyone has driven one knows they have way more power than they need and like to go fast, she as we are walking out of the house she is bugging me about how she has to follow one of those "#### slow truckers". Well we leave at 11:30pm so we can miss traffic and it is raining. She has no gps and is following me. After about 30 mins I get a phone call asking me to slow down. I forget we are well above most of the spray while she is getting it all and can't see hehe. Slow trucker indeed!
Then there were the bathroom breaks every 1-1.5 hours. My log looked like a heartbeat on an ECG. After 250 miles she calls me and asks if we are there yet. I tell her no we are just under halfway. I had told her before we left it was a 10 hour trip. She thought I meant 10 hours round trip. She about hit the roof when I told her it's 10 hours each way hehe. So after we drop the truck we get a hotel room to rest and start fresh the next day. She is complaining about her neck and back and butt being sore and demanding a massage...I told her to remember that when I would hand her the keys to the car to drive to the store after I just drove my truck 500 miles to get home. She had her eyes opened a bit. She rode with me on the truck when I would do 600+ miles a day, but she would spend time in the sleeper, never sit in the jump seat the whole trip. She got a whole new respect and told me she doesn't know how I did it and that she could never do it. Just thought I'd share that. -
gravdigr...good luck with what ever happens next. I still appreciate the help and honesty, I probably made the right decision. Thanks again, Dan.

Thanks for the well wishes. I will say this, if I ever have the chance to do a L/P over again I would have no problem with going back to CRST Malone.

i hpoe guys on here keep posting there time w/ crst. i just caught on to this thread tonight sounds interesting. i live in nw ohio and am a steel hauler but i dont normally see crst trucks at the mills i go to except at the rare occasion when im forced to go to a us steel. you guys must haul a lot of other things besides coils im guessing. have a few questions:
1. do they have any pre dpf trucks they lease?
2. im sure it was probably here somewhere but can someone give me a breakdown of the weekly fixed expenses, truck payment, ins, trailer rental etc.
3. would they have enough short haul freight around oh,in,mi to keep me busy thats all i run now and p/mile rates seem to be a lot bettter for the short stuff running mill to mill. i normally run around 10 loads a week and 2500_3000 miles
thanks any info would be appreciated -

Sorry to hear about your mom. I always enjoyed your input and outlook on things. I hope karma is looking out for you and you can find something you like for the future.
Good luck -
Sorry to hear about your mom man! I had quit CRST Van as a L/P to go local with Conway but it just wasnt the same. I missed the road and money. CRST Malone allows me a lot more time home then the van did since I can plan my own loads. I hope you get to get back into it man!
