    Noticed you are new here so figured you need the lowdown. If someone reports a company we do not judge them or call names, good karma works, bad karma has a fist if a angry God here.

    Enjoy the truckers report

    I totally agree. Time driving a truck doesn't determine if you are a Driver or a wheel holder. I have spoken with a lot of the drivers and I've heard good things and some not so good. Just like with any company. As with any transportation job you are going to have ups and downs. But, to have worked for somebody for 3 weeks you have no background with the company to start posting negative comments. There are some companies I was with I would never go back to but, I don't believe that I was with them long enough to start bad mouthing them. Maybe it was a bad dispatcher, a slow time getting loads or just a poor new service manager. The company I listed in East Peoria Il. was one of the worst I worked for and I was there 6 months but yet I never listed the company name because I didn't believe I was there long enough to judge them. Thats why I said 3 weeks is no where long enough to judge anybody or anything.

    I will admit when I first started I was a wheel holder until I grew up and became a Truck Driver. Luckily I had a mentor that talked to me and showed me the errors of my ways. As far as I'm concerned He was the Best Driver ever on the highways, He was my father.

    Mr Staff Member,
    I don't believe that I was judgeing this other person. I was asking how can he judge them in 3 weeks. If there is something specific you could show me that proves I was in the wrong I will humbly ask for his forgiveness.

    Thank You.

    Obviously,as you have stated,you have a major problem.As you are retired,I pray all is well with you now,and continues to be so. If you read as I have written,it does not take long to determine ia company is a place that will be beneficial,not detrimental to a drivers' life.Experience has been my teacher,with 6 years active duty as a Marine,2 years of those being and Living a Drill Instructor.!8 years in the reserves,my last year in Afghanistan.Cry I do not,truth I tell,just handle it.

    I started driving,as a HHG (for thse of you who do not know,that's household goods) drive from North Chicago,Il. to Pensacola,Fl. to San Diego, Ca.,moving Sailors stationed in these location in 1983.I have been pushing a rig ever since,staring with a White Cabover,air worked when the window was open,anda AM radio. A CB was a necessity,and drivers respected each other for the most part,and on rare occasion was vulgar word spoken

    See, now I worked for Fischer for almost a year. The only reason I quit was because a local job opened up near my house... otherwise I would still be there.
    The thing here is that almost all of Fischer's trucks are leased through Penske, Ryder, or PacLease. If you were in one of those leased trucks, you were given the option of taking a loaner truck, and obviously declined, to finish your loads. AND I took the time to add up your listed and implied expenses

    $200 orientation pay (which was not really pay, but a cash advance to help you get started... orientation is NOT paid)
    $217 Travel
    $ 55 Drug screen
    $ 65 Physical Exam
    $300 ($100 Advance automatically put on card every Saturday X3 Saturdays)
    _______________
    $837 Total
    Who was your dispatcher dude? $837 in 4 days? I would have killed for that... You said they took it out of your last check, implying you got a last check.
    Now did you get blanket wrap pay, or breakdown pay or layover pay? Probably not, because you were apparently too new to know to put it on your envelope and drop it in the trip pak box... SOOO!!! the fault falls on your shoulders. Fact is, I was very happy at Fischer, and would go back in a heartbeat if this job doesn't work out for some reason.

    i to drove for fischer for a year, i left for a couple reasons... One being there low pay. even with blanket wrap pay & my mileage pay. had 9 years and they started me at 0.32 p/m. and the year that i was there i only got 85,000 miles so thats the main reason why i left. miles wasnt there, and with the low pay. made it rough to survive, esp the last 3 months of averaging $300 a week.

    I liked my dispatcher, which was Lance. we got along and he did the best he could to keep me going but if there aint no loads then only so much he could do. I also got along great with Shannon, buck, mike, chad and most the others in the office. Low pay was the main reason i left.

    The other reason i left was because they treat specialized like its general freight, its not general freight. and having to repower loads ALL the time because a fat and or lazy driver couldn't fold blankets or tare down decking, that got old fast! and i can call them fat cuze im not a skinny man by any means BUT i can also do my job. if you cant do physical labor then go pull general freight.

    Paper work was not that difficult,nor faulty,as IS your math.I never have had an advance from there,or anywhere else,not very smart,is it? Blanket wrap and folding? Only did HHG ( Household Goods) in case you didi'nt know,for the first 8 years of my 30 years driving, That was not an issue. I went to recover an abandoned tractor in Santa Fe Springs,Ca. Broke down at Elk Mountain,Wy. Towed to Salt Lake City,Ut.Picked up another Ryder tractor.It broke down in Stockton,Ca.Got it fixed,got down to so,Ca. to pick up the "abandoned" tractor,turns out it was supposed to be fixed,sat there 5 days sleeping in the truck at night,and put it back into the shop,sitting there all day.Never offered a motel room,much less a shower for 5 days! My travel expenses on the road were out of pocket,mine. Take your broke behind back to them,only a fool would stay there for nine years.I stated my opinion,as you have yours.This is not a forum to be judged,just state the facts. You are not qualified to judge anyone,only ONE is,and we both are a far cry from being as capable to judge anyone. The fault if any was that I believed Shannon at her word,and Buck's, which were not worth the air used.

    Before posting anything else, use spell check, or go back to grade school. Communication is the key to all things in life, letting everyone know when there are problems I do always, and if they are not resolved, I eliminate them.
