Let me start by stating i have 28 years experance, clean record no tickets/accadents..the last 20 years i have been working local for construction companys as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic i also moved equipment around with a RGN.and hauled Hot asphalt in tankers ..5 months ago i started working driving OTR wich is what i want to do...the company ran me from MA-SD and NH- FL with a 53' dropdeck after 5 months of never missing a delivery..they told me that 2 weeks out wasent working and they needed me to stay out for a month or two that wasent for me...Hind sight beeing 20-20 i should of had stayed their for 1 more month.with only 5 months receint OTR experance it is like starting over again it seems that most companys look for 6 months OTR or a year...I think its amazing that after 20 years of working local my first trip was 3 stops in SD and NB and i made it on time with no problems..it has been impossible to find a job..many many applications many O/O with ####### trucks with every offer to make $1500-$2500 a week in cash with bald tires and no brakes..not for me...
Any way...i am now looking at 4 offers..maby 5...
The first offer is WEL companies There pay is .44 CPM One week orientation in GreenBay WI out for 2 weeks
The second offer is PGT I think it was at 29% of the load one week orientention and 2 weeks with a trainer thay try to get you home on weekends but will every other
The third offer is with Paul Miller trucking They have a sliding pay scale per mile..two day orentation...and they have an account 3 miles from my house that delivers every day...they can get me home every weekend no problem they are looking for someone for this account
the fourth it TMC they are looking for reginal drivers at .42 CPM.and their yard is in the next town, reginal work Lowes and home depow in MA,NH,ME,CT VT,& NY. home every week...one week orientation in IA....
THE 5Th is AirGas Looking for a Tanker Driver out 4 days off 3. running MA,CT,NH,ME,VT it is at .50CPM no sleeper staying in Hotels..I already passed the drug test and road test for this job and my application was sumitted to the company the recruiter said sometimes it takes about a month to hear from them.
I realy dont want to wait a month it has already been 3 weeks out of work
I have read a lot of negitive posts about all theis companys...every company is going to have unhappy drivers it is just the nature of the biz until we all as drivers stand together and demand the b/s stops it will continue the federal government is holding us as drivers to a higher standard but not the companys.....Hell will freeze over before that happens
Thease offers are what i am looking at....i was told i can be in the next class at WEL,PGT,and Paul Miller. TMC needs me to send in my W2s for one of the places i worked at that went out of buinsness for varication.not a problem.....I dont think PGT exictes me only because of the 2 weeks of training...whare i have been driving for 28 years and a lot of flatbed and RGN with heavy equipment,,,I dont think i need any training any advice Or thoughts would be appreaciated Thanks
I have some job offers and need advise

i would go with paul miller, from what i a\have heard good company and with that customer close to house would be good. i would stay away from tmc and pgt.
-
Thanks i think you are rite on this one

It sounds like the Paul Miller job is the one I would take.

I believe that you need to rethink your decision and take a hard look at AirGas, as you stated there are bad postings about them on the forum, but can you find any company that does not have some negative posts about them. Not every company is a good fit for every driver, what works for some does not necessarily work for others. You will also find that tanker drivers tend to be treated better by the shippers and receivers. Also you will probably go to the same group of customers on a regular basis, so once you have been there the first time there will be no hunting for directions.
Air Gas will pay you for everything that you do and you will run legal. Also there is something to be said to be put up in a motel for your breaks.
Just my opinion for what it is worth. -
based on what you wrote Paul miller seems best choice Airgas would be good as well and Maybe WEL
Steady account ending near home is good if you had issue with staying out very long and the paychecks will be consistant. And those 2 reasons is why Airgas is close second -
I think Air Gas is the better of the jobs but to have to wait up to a month for them to get back to me dosent make me happy and in the mean time i could miss out on the paul miller job they only are putting on 5 drivers the other jobs i think will always be their.what if it ends up beeing 2 months before they call me..i am thinking about taking the Paul Miller Job and see if Air gass calles me

I just got an E:mail from WEL with my flight reservations i never told them i would take the job i told them i had 4 offers to look at and i would get back to them...they have emailed and called me the most...they told me they have a hard time finding good drivers with clean MVRS in the east coast...You would think i was a preamium.....

Airgas also has good benefits. I used to work for them in a non-trucking capacity.

Personally, I'd go with Airgas. Four days off, three days out, paid premium for miles, pay for motels. The work will be much better than flatbed. Plus the fact you can find no negative posts about the company. Use the empirical, methodical approach of the process of elimination ... Airgas wins.
