So i made a silly mistake that i luaghed about after all the tension of being held up for 2 hours for my own stupidity. I arrived at my customer a half hour earlier then i knew he would get there to open the gate. so i pulled the brakes turned off the lights grabbed the pillow and tried to konk out for a lil while. 30mins later i hear the chains clanking around from him opening the gate. groggy and disoreitned i get up and fire up the truck. turn on lights push in air valaves and starting cutting out in the road so i can swing into the gate. uhh ohhh..... wtf..?? truck aint moving... brakes seem locked up.... air pressure built up everything should be good. its not cold i dont get it. after 2 hours of dickn around with the truck and calling road serivce to come out i noticed while i was sleeping my arm was resting on the trailer trolley brake and it was in the lowered postion the whole time. i lifted it up and i was movin again.. u gotta be ##### kiddin me.... uggg lol:biggrin_25526:

    i am missing something

you were trying to figure out how to start the truck, for two hours, while your arm was on the trailer brake? your trolley brake does not automatically pop back up? or did the 30 min nap cause it to stay in a locked position?

Sometimes they get stuck down if held for a long time or from heat if using them in traffic. Being a noob myself, I had to figure this out after an hour driving through construction. My ABS light came on and there was smoke coming from the back of the trailer. Forgot I had even used the Hand brake until maintenance asked about it...

Not all truck's trolly valves have a spring to bring them back up.

    ok, thanks

the dumb mistakes we make.........we could right a book

friend of mine was stuck, called road service, wound up being when he hooked the trailer back to his truck, he crossed the brake lines

    cost him $200

i have dropped MY trailer on MY truck more than once

backing up with the trailer too high and getting the kingpin stuck in front of the fifth wheel

going thru a walmart parking lot, (in front of the store) and hit one of those high curbs trying to get out and burst two trailer tires

sitting in the street to get loaded, slowly driving along the curb, the steel grating of the sewer was sticking out and burst two trailer tires

trees snatching my passenger cb antenna

    the list goes on

Also not all trolley brake springs are as strong as they used to be. I've had them stick on me.
