Hey there. I'm new here and looking into being a trucker. I do have a clean dring and criminal record, except when i was a minor. I was a rebel as a teenager and got into a couple peoblems with the law, and I also got a speeding ticket when I was 16, I'm 34 now. Are these things I should report when applying to companies? Or does it not matter since I was a minor when these happened?
Any info on this would be very helpful.

just answer questions on the application honestly
I believe most apps only ask about criminal findings older then 5 years
get your MVR if it isn't on there it never happened anyway

Good advice from transam pete. Some applications will ask for 5 yrs. or 10 yrs. or 15 yrs. Don't volunteer anything that isn't asked on the application.

expunge your criminal record then you won't have to worry about it. you can tell em no becuase there won't be anything to find anymore.

go down to your states criminal background check, submit your fingerprints, and they will tell you what to do.

your driving record only goes back 3 years. after that, insurance doesn't care. unless it's a dui.

Juvenile records don't show unless you were adjudicated as an adult for example, a serious crime, charged as an adult. Those records are legally protected by law from anyone but law enforcement and even then, only in certain circumstances.

Do not volunteer information. Only answer what is asked. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I feel alot more confidant now that my teenage past isn't going to haunt me. I was never tried as an adult, so I think I'm good. My only concern about it now is that some companies ask if I've ever been arrested, and I'm not quite sure how to answer that. Also, I heard that the gonernment has access to those records, which may prevent me from obtaining my HAZMAT. As far as expunging it, I don't live in the same state where I grew up, so I'm not sure how to go about it from out of state.

Again, as long as you didn't commit a serious crime as a minor like a felony that had you charged as an adult or something that could get you put on the government "watch" list in today's world, nothing to really worry about.
