How to determine if Shipper is Good or Bad?

Some use factoring companies, some use paypal. some do 50/50. Get recommendations on this broker. I would ask him how he plans to pay and get it in writing! Make sure he uses his business letter head and dated.

 

Are you an independent owner operator with own authority?

If you are I suggest having a handful of brokers, as many as you are comfortable with, that you KNOW pay their bills in the manner that they operate. I have some that are 30 days pay from original receipt of paperwork, others are pay with e-mailed documents, can mail in original bills later, others I can go to their office drop off invoice and have a cheque in hand immediately. I only am using maybe 10 brokers maximum to keep me busy. I see little need to have, say, 100 customers, some of which may not pay.
