John3p,
What does it mean when your filters are stained? -
i also have a freightliner... and the issues sounded familiar... we replaced the SRS sensor and it works but now the truck stalls sometimes and blows out dark smoke... thinking it might be a fuel filter issue as once we take it off and clean it the issue goes away.
-
May be EGR
-
I thought the return line hooked to a fitting with a small hole in it to regulate fuel pressire. I dont think there are any check valve in back of head the check valve is in fuel pump.
-
Gear head there is a check valve after the restriction fitting in Detroit's , it prevents the fuel from draining out of the head after it is shut down so on re-start it has a solid fuel supply. Some times it is down line a way's other times it is screwed directly into the restriction fitting.
-
EGR was changed also, turbo, fuel lines, fuel pump... out of options now
-
checkvalve back of head, fuel pump on aircompressor can have seal sucked out of it if you have a clogged air filter replace pump, could be sucking air tween fuelfilter and tank, try connecting a clear hose from main fuel filter and put it in the tank if it starts for you it's the hose, if you see bubbles in hose it's sucking air may have a clogged air filter.
