sorry everyone I'm sure this is a redundant question but I just bought a mini fridge with an electrical rating of 115v~/60hz/1.3A and I have it plugged into my cobra cpi 1575 inverter that offers 1500 watts continuos with 3000w peak. Question is, will my inverter handle it, will my fridge even work properly and is this gonna kill my truck batteries and if so how long? Fridge has been plugged in and it flashes 14.3 and 0 on the output but sometime shows 40 on the output. Please help! Edit: I am running my apu so it probably won't decrease from 14.3 but let's say I don't run my apu. According to the electric rating I gaveand the inverter specs, how much run time will it have before possibly reaching 12.0 or 12.4

Ok so as long as I don't let it drop to 12.0 I'm ok? About how much running time would that be? I tend to run my apu a lot so I'm not to concerned but id still like to know the answer. Also, is it even giving enough power to run the fridge properly? I'm trying not to check inside bc I want it to cool all the way down before I go poking and prodding inside

The olp warning just scared the crap out of me and woke me up. I take it this inverter can't handle this fridge? Or is it bc I have the fridges temp setting on as cold as it goes?

Id, turn it down and mine usually lasts thru the night if I ran a full day,i wouldn't let it get below 12.6

What kind of APU do you have? Some of them can be programmed to come on once a set low voltage exists, to recharge the batteries. I had to bump up the setting on my TriPac, because it would not come on automatically until after my Volvo's low voltage warning would come on, waking me up in the middle of the night.

i used to have a 3 cubic foot mini fridge/freezer in a volvo i drove. i used the cobra 800w 1600w peak inverter. i could leave the fridge on the lowest setting and leave the inverter on and the truck would still start after 2 days. now this truck had new batteries, but i never had an issue with the truck starting. if you have an APU, just leave it on automatic. if the voltage drops, the APU will kick on and recharge the system.

i had an international eagle that had the thermoking tripak APU. the truck had a bad battery, and when the truck sat more than 12 hours, it would not start. i started leaving the APU on auto, and it would kick on and run every 6 hours or so for about 30 minutes then shut off. the tuck started fine. the company was too cheap to replace the one bad battery so i let the APU burn that expensive diesel fuel instead.

I had the exact same setup and ran into the following problems the cobra inverter usually alarmed on the compressor startup cause after invetigation the compressor startup can surge 2-3 times running amps! Eventually burned up a cooling fan in the cobra :(. Then fridge burned up the mod sine wave makes them run harder hotter. Replaced inverter with one from harbor freight 2000-4000 surge these have 60 second surge before warning alarm this fixed the problem. However i have trashed 3 fridges in 1 yr. not do to power but that this tractor spends a lot of time off-road. Vibration bad for the little fridges. Jm2c

As far as how long yea 2-3 days on low but i have 4 good batteries and an esm. So remember it also matters A LOT how big the feed wires to inverter are and how long they are voltatge drop over size and distance

The inverter itself has a low voltage shut off. Fridges use very little because the compressor doesn't come on but about every 30 minutes and doesn't stay on maybe 5 minutes.

Mine according to the meter used 150 watts to start the compressor and 70 watts to run it. I left the truck shut down for 2 days before and it didn't phase the batteries. I bet you could run it 4 or 5 days.

A TV will last about 8-10 hours.

Every trucker needs a minimum of a 1500 watt inverter in case they want a small microwave. If you are gonna make a career out of driving a 2500 watt is the way to go. But it's nice to have an APU to keep the batteries charged up.

That shouldn't be an issue because if you have it wired correctly the feed wire is as big as the mount hole on the inverter and preferably 4 foot long. Anything smaller/longer and you are asking for trouble.
