I heard a rumour that maverick is hiring cdl holders that have no exp or cdl school... Is this true? Their website is real vague on the matter. I have one year of class B driving exp and I have a Class A but I have no A exp. Ive enrolled for school in November. But I'll def change my mind and save my money if maverick will take me now.

I am pretty sure as long as you have a valid class a with a good driving record they will hire you. Call and ask a recruiter for sure.

Not sure about maverick, but most all companies require you to have recent experience or schooling before they will hire you. I think their insurance requires it. Easy thing to do would be to just call them and ask.

Yeah I plan on calling them in the morning. I just thought somebody might know now. Lol the information excited me to the point of trying to know faster. Would save me 4 thousand dollars.

That's what i heard too, but after i went to the maverick website, i think you have to go to cdl school, then they will accept you from the school. You might want to call them to make sure that the rumor is true.

When I went through orientation about a year and some ago you didn't need cdl school. A couple of guys I went through with had only driven straight trucks but held a class "A". As posted earlier, best to call the recruiter.

I am pretty sure if maverick is just taking cdl-a newbs right off the street without them not having to go to cdl school there orientation would be over filled with cdl-a holders and i would be one of them. Even tho i don't want to drive flatbed, i would do it for the experience and go elsewhere. I think steel wheel has it right that insurance company would not let that happen.

They are hiring new CDL grads. Just check the hiring area.

I am an instructor at maverick, you do not need recent experience. You will just have to go with a trainer like me. All you need is a class a cdl and be able to pass dot physical and live in the hiring area. Good luck.
