Have to close this thread out. After my last update I was home. I really let it sink in how I was feeling and wanted to take a couple of months before I updated.
There were a couple of issues. First, I was being pressured to do some things I did not want to do. Some information that was told to me prior was no longer the case. While home I was contacted by a friend who started his own business and it was doing very well. It was in my field and I was offered a job. Money was just too good so I had to think about it. My final decision was made easy by my experience with my trainer.
I know I posted he was hard and tough. In reality he was borderline. I dreaded having to go back on the road with him. He just was not meant to train people. Yelling and screaming for things he simply set you up for. Not sure about anyone else, but when you make a wrong turn, do you get screamed at? Telling you that the GPS is a guide and then setting it to take residential routes, WTF. Final straw for me was when I hit a deer. I was chastised up and down, I ####### ruined his truck. A couple of other words that really had me on edge where I thought I was going to knock the #### out of him.
So I am not a trucker but have my license. I do have a greater respect for anyone who drives for a living. My trainer killed any experience for me. It is really sad that he is allowed to represent any company.
Good luck all.
Rookie starting my trucking career. From first thought to hopefully retirement.

Welcome to trucking Steve. The fun just began.True your trainer should'nt have yelled but you'll find that alot in trucking. Some trainers are just not meant to be trainers and do it just for the money.Don't lose hope. What you did is common,I don't think companies will disqualify your application. But be prepared for alot of stress in trucking.Probably more bad days then good but you get use to it.

I've run into managers like that. They're not training/managing, they're on a power trip. They tend to call out your faults rather than help you do it correctly.

Since I started this I am going to finish. My friends business worked out well in the beginning. Long story short, I used to manage one of the owners as a tech and for what ever reasons treated me like I had wronged him at some point. I did nothing wrong but was told, not by him but another owner (there are 3) that I was not working out. I was not devastated but it took a couple of days to sink in, I was fired for no reason what so ever except I had a hard time dealing with text only communication.
So now I had to collect unemployement for the first time in my life and it truly sucks. It has been a month so far and I just want to work. I have had almost a year to think about my experience with Prime and I do not blame the company but me. I am upset that I let a bully turn me away from something that I actually enjoyed.
I would love to stay at home and work but I know it would be years to re train and make any type of salary. So I am starting to look into other companies. I am not looking at Prime again, not because of the company. Just a bad experience with a rep.
I am pretty sure I have to give up my dog as a good portion do not allow them. I am gutted but also know my good friend has already told me he will take him in. Married and 2 kids so I know he will have an excellent home. -
If Prime is off your list, then I suggest taking a look at Roehl. They were my #2 choice behind Prime.

I am looking at them at they were also my 2nd choice. This time I will ask a ton more questions.
jomar68 Thanks this.
