like i said previously, don't give up hope,as i can say for a fact the the company i sub-haul for has hired drivers in same/similar situations. as to all of you folks bashing him-hey,he owns up to his mistake, thats the first part of recovery. part of being right with God is forgiveness for sins committed on ourselves when we were on the wrong path,it's when people STAY on that wrong path do they deserve a little scorn. let me give you a little advice on a topic i once knew TOO well--LEAVE THE DOPE AND THE PEOPLE WHO USE OUT OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!

REALLY,.... you have to have a negative drug screen in order to qualify for a DOT sensitive job.....NOOOOOO!!#$%&*? ....REALLY,...Yes, I am FULLY AWARE of this,... AS PREVIOUSLY stated. YES, I SCREWED-UP... also PREVIOUSLY STATED....Point being/taken?????? My DAC has nothing on it concerning my positive "PRE-EMPLOYMENT" drug screen, it does HOWEVER, have an employment record that will lead my "prospective" employer to finding my "positive PRE-employment" drug test, but if I can get the employment record "expunged" the positive test will NEVER be revealed. That would be a "quick-fix"??? Would it not.......? YES,....YES it WOULD.Thanks for "chiming" in though,.. good night...:biggrin_25522:

JavelinJeff.... kudos brother, I hope sticking up for me that the others will not hold a grudge against you. Every thing related to the "drug experience" was a TRULY one shot deal. I had just graduated truck school and took the celebration a bit too far into realms I do not usually travel in.:biggrin_2557: I do APPRECIATE your kind words and advice. Do you know of any co. that would take me "as-is" in central Florida, although the DAC fix is probably going to happen, it is just going to take some more of my time, i.e..... not making money!:biggrin_2554:

I can't take you seriously anymore.

When someone posts a kind and gently reply you refer to them as "honest and thoughtful". When someone posts words you can't (or refuse) to accept you think they're uneducated and holier-than-thou.

With that attitude you're going to find yourself in a revolving door of situations like this one. Good luck with that.

BTW...your comment after the Thomas Edison quote is incorrect. There ARE mistakes.

well i doubt anyone will hold a grudge against me for what i said.long before i got into trucking,i was into drinking and drugs in a small town and i had a fast car--needless to say the local Sheriff's Dept knew me very well. i went into re-hab of my own choice, got clean and sober, when i was allowed to be licensed again i got my CDL. i paid my dues working for a smaller outfit, proved myself as being dependable,STAYED CLEAN AND SOBER! now many years later i regret my mistakes but i'm not worried about my past-i will help anyone who truly desires to give up that lifestyle, cause there is no future in using drugs or alcohol to get intoxicated. it will only cause you grief sooner or later. drinking may be legal but it's just as bad as dope when it comes to blemishing your record.

i'll even go a little deeper on this-the reason you are getting slammed is that you are trying to get around the consequences of your actions. when it all came down on me i felt the same way,but in reality i should have been slammed by the system even harder! i could have easily killed someone in my stupidity, and when my decisions got me in trouble-well it was all my doing. now when i see those same Deputies who enjoyed arresting me then, they are amazed that i cleaned myself up so well and am now a success in business. I'm not afraid to admit my mistakes as it is part of the 12 step program of sobriety. now i'm working on quitting smoking--do you think i care if someone looks down upon me for smoking in the first place? not even one little bit! is it the tobacco companies fault for me getting hooked? no,that was again my choice-and i must live with the consequences of my actions!
