Soo I've been working for Mclane out of Jessup, Pa for about 4 months now. It's not my cup of tea, 25 hour shifts, barely any sleep and then having to drive home after very strenuous work? On top of that I deliver to some of the most stressful driving places in the nation, (all of jersey and philadelphia). I have no problems going to these areas but it's every single day.
So I decided to start out on a new quest I want to get into flatbeding and wide loads that has been my dream since before I even had my license. If anyone can supply me with salary, miles, hometime of Maverick, Lone Star and Roehl it would be greatly appreciated. I'm only 21 turning 22 in exactly one month. Hope someone can be of help.

Also look at TMC. They have a highly respected "specialized" division but as with any OD hauling and as far as I know still hire new CDL holders. As with any OD hauling, you'll have to have significant experience and a proven flatbedding record, first. Also, you might consider Anderson Trucking (ATS)
These ad others you mention should have their own forum section in the "Inside scoop" section to get more specific and first-hand info. -
Sounds like the same gig I have been doing, I am going back to Roehl, when I left I was averaging just over 2000 miles a week, only did OD once in a while. Home time is a sliding scale but averages out to about 1 off for 5 out. They just started a new pay scale so I am not sure what you would make but there are only a couple carriers I found that would pay me more then what I make there.

I wouldn't mind tmc heard some bad and good but they require you to be 23 years of age for insurance purposes. I'm trying to lean more towards lone star and maverick seams like after awhile at loan star you can start running oversize for them.

Are you worry about making it to 23? I did and it wasn't that much problem. Making it to 18 with the Vietnamese shooting at me was hard but 23 piece of cake.
CAXPT Thanks this.
