It occurs to me that as a precautionary measure the cops could have put emergency triangles or a cruiser with its lights flashing out on the road before the blind rise that might have prevented this accident. It could have been a motorist and not a trucker who came over the rise, and then the CB finger pointing would be void.

Almost all radar/laser detectors now have the technology to pick up signals warning of road hazards. Since you can't have the detector legally in cmv, strip the warning tech & have a road hazard monitor only. This could be a stand alone system easily transferred from truck to truck or built in to an existing communication system. I believe ambulances & fire vehicles already have transmitters that send out a signal, other vehicles could be added, each with its own signal so the detector would tell you exactly what to look for. What do you think? Should be an easy sale as a safety measure.

None of the ambulances or fire trucks in my area have this technology. I have driven all of the ambulances in my county and the trucks in my town.

But how hard would it be to add a small transmitter, same idea, to emergency vehicles. While this may not help right now, it COULD be an idea to work toward. How great would it be if a bridge could tell you it's icing up or an emergecy vehicle of an accident within the next mile?

Just putting an idea out here guys, can't see where it would hurt anything.

No doubt it would help, but we have enough problems getting protective gear from the fire district as is.

I try to have my cb on all of the time. But honestly it gets shut off more and more now. It seems that as soon as it gets turned on i shut it back off because of rude obnoxious people!
