Or do you even have a chain bag. Well I do. It's just a bag with all the stuff i need for the crappy donner weather.

Mine is as follows, and if I'm missing anything let me know.

-Overalls, bright and reflective for night chaining. Good ones that don't rip after one use.
    - Thermal undergarments to keep you warm.
    -change of clothes and underwear
    - toilet paper and baby wipes
    -Extra pair of boots/socks
    - 5 pairs of gloves. They get soaked real easily.
    -Atta Links
    -Extenders
    - Bungee Cords..lots of em
    - Bolt Cutters
    -canned food and power bars
-Two headlamps and extra batteries for each
    -jetboil
    - books to read in case I get stuck
    - Gerber multi tool and simple hand tools.

This is the majority of it..cant really think of anything else at this point.

For winter and/or chaining I have flock-lined rubber gloves, the bright orange ones. If it is real cold I wear a thin cotton liner in them. That way I can still grasp small steel items without freezing my fingers and together they are warm enough for anything you're going to encounter in CA... or pretty much anywhere else (I work in the frozen far north).

no chain bag anymore. don't go that far west anymore. even when I did , they were for show or when stuck. my freight was never that important to the company. they had a guy killed chaining in Utah,on I-80, once and that was it for them.

i run bare foot...never had a storm i could not make that way. even in the blizer in colorodo and wy i ran thru it bare footed while everyone was stopping chaining and stuck i was on the road running down the highway. i do keep goods in case things get shut down. candy bars those hersey gaint chocolate bars. canned food bread and 1 gallon of water and 1 gal of sweet tea. chains are over rated think about it if its so bad you have to stop and chain good chance when you do stop your stuck. i have been stopped for a short time waiting for the green to run bare footed again and still caught and passed the guys who stopped and chained and now had to un chain
