I'd like to interject and ask a question here. Would someone describe the physical ability test?
I've been in physical therapy for 3 weeks dealing with my right shoulder. I've regained about 75% of my lost range of motion and the remaining % will take some time, just working it, exercising and stretching on my own. I do have nagging pain probably attributable to underlying conditions we all probably experience as we age. My PT therapist says I do have very good strength! So I don't think passing a test will be an issue. In fact, the whole time I was in cdl school, the shoulder was bothering me and yet it did not interfere with my ability to perform. (Didn't see a Dr until after graduation.)
Look forward to hearing about Roehl's test.

Nothing to bad, a few reps from like table to chest, and a few over head, but its light...sorry I can't remember the weight but it wasn't nothing, then you do some squats and climb on a trailer, squat under a trailer for a certain amount of time....even at 75% you should be fine, there looking for your heart rate to stay under a certain number according to your age, also if you have talked to a recruiter she will send you a packet and it will have a list of everything you will have to do
Nottoway Thanks this. -
Perfect...Thanks! (I'm looking at National Van as that's all Roehl hires from my area, i think.)Last edited: Oct 16, 2012

Hi guys,
I'm getting ready to start CDL school myself and was looking into Roehl. I've liked what I've seen on the website and some other things that I've seen here. I had not seen the 11/3-18/4-25/6 that Coop mentioned. In ya'lls experience are they flexible on that? for example, If I start a cycle and need days 14-16 off can I stay out a few extra days and get another load or two or are they pretty hard on the 11, 18, 25? I don't think I'd really be interested in the hometime fleets because slip seating seems kinda hokey to me (not beating up anyone who enjoys it, just not my thing I guess).
Thanks for your answers, and I look forward to coming and working with you guys. -
I don't work for roehl...yet...but I'm sure they won't mind you staying out a few extra days to then get a couple extra days off. Or are you just looking to stay out longer without adding days to home time? Either way I don't think they would have a problem with it. I just left USX and their home time was set up as one day home for each week your out. But you didn't have to go home ever if you didn't want too. Sometimes I was out 4 weeks but was mostly out 5-6 weeks. Then I took 4-6 days home. They always jerked me around and never got me home on time of course though. Which was extremely frustrating. But I hear roehl is a lot better at getting you home on time. -
National fleet is 11:3, 18:4, 24:5, 30:6, 36:7. I'm pretty sure this is how it is setup. I usually try to do either 11:3 or 18:4.coopnp Thanks this.

You can stay out longer than 11 and shorter than 18, but you would only still get 3 days home until you hit 18 out.

Thanks Treefork. exactly what I was wondering about.

after 11 days, you get an extra day at home for every six you're out.

So it's 17/4 then?
