Had a look around but haven't seen much in the way of driving jobs yet. A few links to jobs but they wanted 3 years driving experience.
A few of the employer chat rooms were empty with nobody to answer questions. -
I just jumped on it about 20 mins ago, and Trican is the first company Im chatting with. They are def looking for class 1 drivers.
-
Cool - Trican - 6 months driver training/mentoring program, GODI etc. Base salary $2800-3000. Shift bonus $50-350 per day, likely to be 5-10 days bonus per 15 rotation in field, maybe some time in the shop (so no shift bonus) or down days. $700 northern living allowance. No travel allowance. Must live local during rotation.
Baker Hughes wouldn't disclose much info but said they pay travel & accommodation allowance, 15/6 rotations, and a mix of base and bonus.Last edited: Oct 16, 2012
Fabrikator and oilfield Thank this. -
Which makes more? Base salary + job bonuses or hourly + overtime? I've heard that while working salary + bonus, people can work up to 16 hours in a day plus shop/cleaning time and not get compensated for the amount of time worked. Is there any truth to this? If there is, wouldn't hourly be better since you are getting paid for your time?
-
Fishhauler, which Baker Hughes location are you going to be working out of?
-
Hourly = no pay if you are on a down day, no pay during spring break.
Salary = base income plus bonus. Say your max bonus is $350 per job, and the lowest is $50, then average that over 12-16 hours on a 15 or 21 day rotation. You figure the gross and net income on that arrangement. Can be pretty significant.
pal of mine says who does frac work said shop days are often used as a "punishment" for errant/lazy crew behaviour. Or for guys who they want to get rid of so they screw with their earnings and hope they quit....Fabrikator Thanks this. -
*hides under table*Speedloader and rainyday lover Thank this.

What about the "overtime" that they are saying is available? I was told that the overtime is only when you work on your days off. Is that just job bonus as usual or is that calculated another way?
