I want to haul my motorcycle in my 48' dry van on a run that leaves tomorrow.

Do I need to drain the gasoline?

Do I need to drain the oil?

Do I need any special permit?

    Thank you.

Nothing in the regs to prevent this from taking place.

Don't tie bike down with kickstand down, and weight on it. I know a couple of people that messed up there frame doing that. Gas and oil in bike are no problem.

Use 2 tiedowns on the front triple tree...NOT on the handlebars. Tight enuf so the forks are about halfway compressed. Use two tiedowns on the rear end somewhere so the bike doesnt' jump. dont' need to be really tight, just snug.
Use good ratchet tiedowns, I got some auto ones ( 4 to a set) . cheap and are certified for about 1500 lbs each.

I've towed bikes (little Jeep liberty and my trailer) from Ohio to Cali and Texas and back and a few other places. IF you can nail a 2x4 in front to keep the front tire from sliding into the wallm, that would be good.. ( 2 stacked 2x4's would be better, pull against them.)
You want the force mostly front and downward, a little offset to the side. It's the forward down pull that holds the bike.

I didnt' bother to listen to this, but he's using the correct type of straps.
I know you dont' have these, but here's the style you want...

I used the directions that came with my wheel chocks, never had any problem.
You dont' have a wheel chock, use a couple of pieces of 2x4.

Oh..., and what the previous poster said,... kickstand up! also centerstand up, if you have one.
Make sure the tires are aired up.
    Take care and good luck.

Dot rule book says you may have fuel for auxillary engine or vehicle in the combined area of engine [fuel tank] and carry up to 8 gallons of spare fuel in a proper container, without having a bol.
