The final chapter of Schneider in the Patch has not been written. Those of us working for Schneider, go out each day and do our best. Sometimes Market shifts and other issues, force change and hardship on the working man. If Schneider does exit the Patch, I will say they tried, and came up short. The amount of money and equipment they brought to the table was massive. Sometimes people and company's fail. But at least they tried. How many people have you employed?

Is your post directed towards me? If so, I'm not sure where the hostility is coming from. As a newbie to the patch I've enjoyed reading Rock Doctors thread. We both entered the patch at the same time and it was great to know someone else had also found success out here. While some people may be celebrating Schneider's failure in Victoria, I am NOT one of them. I wish nothing but the best of luck to all the drivers affected by this.
Maybe you should lighten up and find out who took a dump in your Cheerios.Last edited: Oct 17, 2012

Ben, dumb question but I don't suppose housing availability has improved out that way?
Stubby T Slapnutt Thanks this. -
I guess when you are worried about being let go. You might be a little sensitive to folks saying Schneider is done in the Eagleford. My comment is directed at the people who have posted numerous times about Schneider having no business in the Patch. We may very well be done, but as I said when waiting for the call to find out if I was gone, or would continue working. I would go out with my head held high, my boots on with a Stiffy. The last time I checked we was still kicking. Sorry to have offended anyone. I am just like you, just another Driver trying to make it. Good luck to all. I heard Nabors is Hiring in the Corpus Christi area.

If you have an RV you'll be fine. I've seen two new RV parks in Midland this week. I see
them popping up in surrounding towns also. Keep in mind that these "parks" are dirt lots with electric and water hookups. Don't expect any other amenities. Shouldn't be much of a problem because you'll be working all the time anyway.
Vacant apartments still have a shelf life of 4 hours or so. The best thing to do is to pick a few complexes, complete their applications, and leave a small refundable deposit to get on their waiting list.Patt52 Thanks this. -
I understand. Sorry if my comment was insensitive, that was not my intention. The beauty of working in the oil patch is that there are plenty of options for people like us. You certainly are not responsible for Schneider's shortcomings, so please hold your head high. If they don't recover you'll have no problem finding another gig.Stubby T Slapnutt Thanks this.

Looks like Schneider lost their contract driving Schlumberger equipment in North Dakota as well. Some outfit I've never seen before is doing it now.

I doubt that Schneider is "done" in the Eagle Ford. Those accounts made them a lot of money when they were going, and I'd bet they're gonna keep trying to find work hauling energy, even if they have to shift things around a bit.
The thing that really hurts, though, is the extended lease they signed for the land they rented in Victoria to park their trucks. I think they're stuck paying for that land for another two years... -
Things are looking much better in the permian basin for Schneider. They are hiring again for the area and a lot of guys are working their days off

Arkoma has been moving their equipment for quite some time in ND. Schneider, Arkoma, and Old West were all hauling SLB equipment recently. I doubt Schneider is done with SLB in ND. Could be, but SLB is all about the cheap guys so they fit right in there.
