I've seen guys disconnect the fuel lines from the early 40 pin ECMs. What they also did was install the stand offs to move the ECM away from the block to keep the ECM from absorbing as much engine heat and promote air circulation around the ECM for cooling.

CAT stated that the fuel in this application was used to cool the ECM. Earlier electronics generated a lot of heat compared to today they also would change the signal they produced as the heated up. Maintain a constant temperature and the signal the the electronics produces stays within the specified range of the engineer that designed it. The other thing as electronics became more popular in everything built today, the engineers figured out how to maintain the same signal being produced by the electronics over a much wider temperature range. Hence, we no longer have fuel running through the ECM to maintain a temperature range

what if you took the fuel lines off the ecm and to cool ecm run water lines off the motor just asking

The water temps are higher than the fuel temps when goin down the road. Kinda defeats the purpose.

put the stand off's on and pack insulation in between block and ecm.

water temp might be higher than the fuel temp but with the water flow could be enough to keep ecm from burning up

I'm wandering why take the fuel line off the ecm? The micro amount of restriction can not be worth the difference. If your at all concerned about fuel restriction, why not go with FASS system. I got the air dog system, and it come with larger fittings for the fuel pump, fuel primer, and fuel into the head and come with a bored out plate to replace the primer. I didn't change the fittings out because I found them to be slightly weaker fittings, but did take the biggest restriction out by taking the primer pump off and installing the plate.
The fass system increases fuel flow dramactially without cutting cooling down to the ecm. I know it's moving alot more fuel because it heats my fuel in the tank so much quicker and hotter.
I went with the fass system because of the distance from tank to fuel pump.

Can a guy get 1000 hp with stock fuel lines through the ECM? If so, it's probably a waste of a good worry.
