A few minor points, yes. Money out of pocket, no.

I got pulled in at a Cali weigh station. They didn't find anything. Aftet I left, I saw that my inspection inside the small door was out of date. One of my steers were at 2/32nds, and my permit book was out of date.

I'm not defending the DOT but let's look at it from his angle. At what point do you draw the line?

    Violation, no violation?
    Nice guy, not so nice?
    New truck, piece of junk?

If I had to do that stuff day in and day out I guess I would do the job I was hired to do and save the favoritism stuff for something else. I would also focus on the most overlooked stuff along with the critical stuff.

It would be hard to decipher who would fix their problem with a verbal warning and who would laugh at you. I'd rather not play that game.

A trailer license light is one of the most overlooked or I don't care items. A company trailer can go weeks without repair.

Just admit it, a day time pti and you over looked it? :)

If your ABS light on your trailer is on, that's a ticket.

How many truckers carry a 14 ft ladder to change a marker light on a trailer. Not to many I know of and another point is,if,you roll in the dusk hours and do a pre trip and everything is working whats to say a bulb will burn out or a nail in a tire. This csa point crap is going to do in even the safest drivers sooner or later. Comeon just how much of a safety issue is a license plate light or a top marker light geeze just shows that its more for a driver to worry about when trying to make a living

if your referring to my statement, when the officer went to his patrol car to issue the report, I did not know the violation would be on there. it was. the insp report 2 weeks ago had no violations on it.

Have you ever been in the military when an unannounced inspection takes place? It's "No Excuse Sir!" It is what it is. They are taking a random sampling of millions of trucks on the road, and you just happened to be the one that the Eye of Sauron cast its gaze upon. Fate, man. Karma.

Did he write a citation, with the report, or just the Roadside Inspection Report?
