Actually, the CSA program is to point out those that continually have violations. Inspector brings up your info, on his computer. He then sees possibly one or two minor violations, over the past two years, he is not going to get too excited. If he sees a record of continous violations and many of them serious, he's going to get picky.
Got pulled in by D.O.T.

Good looking or bad looking I guess is a better choice of words.
I ain't downing you because it is petty. I got a couple winning violations myself. I always wore my seatbelt. If I didn't put it on immediately I had it on shortly after pulling out of the truck stop. Well that cost me one day as a leo observed me from up under the overpass. He thought I was putting it on because of him while I drove down the ramp. I didn't even see him until I looked in my mirror. Though it was a secondary offense and he couldn't pull me over for it he used the I pulled you over for an inspection trick. I know the games they play. -
like i said before. any of you using a current log book for a local job under 100 miles. are idiots yourself.
all your doing is asking for the cops to look you over more. on areas they shouldn't be looking at.
i can't beleive any of you would even think about keeping a log book. -
Doesn't the log book need to be current for 7 days?
-
Assuming they meet all the criteria for the 100 air-mile rule, then no.

HH Icould'nt agree with you more. It's a no win situation with the D.O.T.No way can you pevvent something as simple as a light that goes out while driving but the law don't care.I have points for a burned out tail light that happened while driving.See dot are on us like flies on sht paper but you see a burned out light on a car thats ok but yes they're just trying to make the roads safe they say.No they're not, they're just making their monthly quota.
volvodriver01 and heavyhaulerss Thank this. -
Really? That sucks cause my old employer made me keep logs for the rare occasion that I went out of the 100 mile radius.
-
An employer can make you do it even though you meet the requirements to run without one. The place I am at was not too familar with the rules and being I wanted to run without a book I took the time to find all the info and go through it with them. I now have had the pleasure of telling DOT a couple different times that I have no log book when being inspected. It feels really good.

I'm glad that I invested in top quality led lights long ago. Just keep dielectric grease on connections to hold down corrosion. Rear license plate light on tractor not needed unless you're from a state that requires front and rear plates. If not remove the light and bracket one less thing. All the lights on my trl have been going strong for over 4 yrs. gotta love the high quality led's made in america! not that foreign crap they sell in trk stops. With the CSA why do companies still run incandescent bulbs?. I know they are cheap but chances of a good quality led is less likely to fail.

point blank...points are points!...why on earth do so many drivers make try to justify an excuse for everything they do wrong..
i don't care if it was minor or not, co's still look at it as points and whether or not to hire you or get rid of you if your already employed.heavyhaulerss Thanks this.
