Oh I'm always pushing my hours. Couldn't tell you how many times I've whipped it into a ts or rest area with less than 5 minutes left since I've started here. And I generally have to call extended services once or twice a month for going over a little bit. And I always arrive a while before the etap eta thing says they thought I'd be there when you first get loaded.

Cant speak for other times but Iowa is slow anytime of the year.
You should take the weekend at the Walcott Iowa 80! Best truckstop in the nation! -
Haha you read my mind! Figured I'd head that way in the morning. Been a while since I stopped there.

Communication is over rated. Your FM should know all they need to about you from your QC. Face it, some FMs are on the hind titty, law of averages. I got lucky with the one I just ended up with a few months ago. I thought I would be in trouble because she had just started and had no truck experance. I was wrong, she is doing an excellent job with home time and miles. Moats weeks I never even talk to her, she just keeps me running.
My point is some of the FMs need to go. If they can hire a young lady off the street that kicks butt in a few months it tells me the job can be learned quickly by the right person. -
I agree some cant. hack the job but I think communication helps keep everyone on the same page.
Evil_E Thanks this. -
I agree you must communicate but the point I failed to make is you can get 90% of it done on the QC. If your FM can't get their job done with that information you're in trouble.

sounds like you might have the fm we lost. Hated to see her go to another division.

I agree 100% I only call when needed.

Home. Been out two weeks...almost didn't get home this weekend either. My FM busted his butt to find me a swap...I truly appreciated that. I needed to get out of the truck for a couple days. I was running good till about two weeks ago. Seems like the bottom fell out....long waits for the next load (sometimes 8 hours) and no loads where normally there was no problem. A LOT of drivers are not getting home regularly, hope it picks up soon.

A lot depends on where you're at what time you got unloaded. Just to say On Thursday there were 10 loads heading back towards the house but on Friday when I'm there there were zero loads. We call it that's trucking.
