a 1994 Cobra 29, good cable and a Wilson antenna. have only had 2 radios in 28 yrs, both were 29's. very reliable radio.
you don't need the echo, reverb , a 100 watt boost or an annoying "roger beep". -
Thanks guys, I am taking all this into consideration. I have yet to pick up a CB yet, but I'm thinking I'm learning towards a Cobra 29.

I mount it right in the middle of the air line slide bar on the back of the (day)cab. I have a bird perch on the right mirror bracket, but it does best on the back. And it does stick out about 8 inches above the air shield, but it hasn't been a problem.

I mount back there on the Volvo also. lol works good and doesn't get hit by tree limbs.

The Cobra 29 is a very good choice. The Uniden PC 78's are equivalent. For a few dollars less, you could purchase a Cobra 25 or the equivalent Uniden PC 68. All are good radios. Just do yourself a favor and stay far away from the cheaply made Cobra 18 which has a terrible record for reliability and durability.
