    Hi everyone,

    I went about things backward a little...posting on a thread that mentioned P90X first. Well, I am known to not do things the "normal" way sometimes. Why change now?

    At any rate, my name is Steve. I am a 36 year old father of 4 who lives in upstate NY. I completed my CDL course on October 22. I will be going out for orientation on November 14. Surprisingly, the company I am going with was okay with that. The school tried telling me I might be forced to take a 40-hour refresher course first. Luckily, that wasn't the case.

    I am coming from a decade-long career of being an office clerk. Why the career change? No advancement. I have been waiting and waiting to hopefully get canvassed and hired for a higher-paying job with the state, and nothing has happened. Finally I got sick of waiting. This was the one field I saw where I could make the jump to the pay I need. Granted, this means sacrificing a lot of time home until I can (hopefully) get to a local job, but in the end it will be worth it. I have been very blessed in that everyone was on board with me making this decision.

    I have quite a few diverse passions outside of work (like writing, playing music, and martial arts), but there is one that I hope to incorporate into the job: FITNESS. I have been doing workouts like 10 Minute Trainer, P90X, Insanity and Rev Abs since 2010. I am also a Beachbody Coach. Recently I achieved my P90X Certification (while I was attending CDL, no less!). This means my knowledge of P90X runs a little deeper than the average Coach. As I'm sure you all know, when people think of the word "trucker." they certainly don't conjure up the mental image of a ripped, fit-looking individual. Part of my goal while being in this industry is to help change that image.

    At any rate, I probably rambled a little more than I should. Hope no one took offense to that, and I look forward to being an active part of this forum!

    ~~~Steve
