New to the trucking world and a little overwelmed. Recieved my CDL 9/28/12 & making every effort to find gainful
employment, had a great opertunity working at the port (northern west coast ) TWIC card in hand went down and was picked up by day driver who filled me in on time sheets, scale operation and so on. The truck was dual axle with
a split 8 speed with a 40 ft dump trailer. I trained on a single axle 10 speed Sterling. A little overwhelming but doable,
man what a pain parking that thing anyway, I digress, the next morning I was going in early to get some tips on downshifting from the dayshift guy who was great all along and got a call from dayshift guy who told me to call the
owner so I did. Seems the owners brother in law was just laid off and that he was going to fill my position with him.
Well if that just didnt toast my chestnuts! So I'm now back on the hunt.
