Just some friendly advice. If/when you do go OTR, maybe you should be very careful about using your mobile (when stopped/it's legally safe to do so). You may just get some upsetting news over the phone. You'll need to deal with that, then move on and drive safely after getting some disturbing news.
Two misdemeanor charges....can I get a break. Sheesh

What about misdemeanor driving violations like not having a pilot car when required?
It happened to a driver who worked for me, he was 14'3" wide and a pilot was required for 14'0" and over. Criminal .....
He cant get a decent job now.
Anyone wannna talk about how "actions have consequences"? Yeah they do and trying to work for a living in the good ol' USA is one of those actions with major consequences.
We dont know the story behind what happened to the OP but what if a good person got upset because his wife was moving his kids 2000 miles away and he just snapped one day and kicked her car door putting a dent in it? Now he has a criminal record and cant get a job for 10 years... I know that guy too.
Everyone has a bad day, but in America we pay for it for decades (unless of course we are talking about child molesters who just need some counseling because they have a disease). -
many companies have a 5 to 10 year waiting period for felony convicts, i do believe some companies (Werner come to mind) have a lifetime ban on felonies. again, you would be LUCKY if any of the major carriers hire you.
you may be relegated to going to a skank company such as "Carolina" as some have said. if that is the case, then "just go", get your experience and move on..
of course the "usual" advice would be to STAY out of trouble, and get on with your life and future.
good luck to you.
now THAT makes ME laugh..... -
You need to think outside the box. Don't limit yourself to mega companies. In fact if that is only who you are considering, you are better off doing something else.
Turn off the computer, get off the couch, open your local phone book and go see some companies IN PERSON. As for training, stay away from company sponsored training. Check out training through community colleges in your area. -
What in the world did the post about being on your cell phone have to do with the original post?
