Yikes. We left MALONE for a reason. Sorry if you made the wrong choice. We did well with Malone. Our dispatcher sent an e-mail and asked if we missed them. No, not really.

back in 2008 to 2010 i was leased to crst/malone, and i did very well for my self. i worked out of trussville, al. hunter was one of my freight cordinators i had. the only time i heard from him or i called him was during the set up for the freight and cash advance. he looked after me with the military freight i did get from him. most of it was out of ms, va and nc. i did a lot of running for debbie in atlanta and i mad a tone of cash with her back then. i still get e mails from her and x-mass cards from her. i had no problemes with j-ville fl always got good paying loads from him. gean in baltimore had a lot of coils but not paying what it should pay. i know gean had his own trucks and so did debbie but i never got pushed to the side with them. the agent in lake station who i think left crst was also great to me with freight. i found that if u stay on the east coast you will get some realy great loads. when i passed chicago going west i had a hard time. had 1 agent in mo. who loaded generators back east for me. i went where most drivers would not go. nyc being i live on long island i got all good freight going there with high rates. but getting out of there was hard with crst. thank god i had some old contact on long island to get loaded to at least balitmore md.
if i go back to the road i will probaly go back with crst but base out of atlanta for debbie. i had bad freight and i have had great freight with them but i never waited for anyone. always set freight up days in advance to make shure i had something. i was loaded 6 days a week with freight. in order to make it in the trucking industry as an o/o you must think like a business personn and do your own leg work and make your business work for it self.
in case everyone wants to know why i came off the road it was because of my 3 children. my kids are my life not my job.. i sold my trucking company and mad a profit from it. all total i had 8 trucks leased to them. now i teach at commerical driver tranning. i am state certified to teach cdl a,b school bus, charter bus and any commerical vehicel. i wish everyone the greatest sucess in trucking and i hope you all make a lot of money and do well. rember business first then friends. peact to all -
I don't too often see MI mentioned. Does CRST have much freight along 96? Weather I buy an older truck or do the LP, I'm considering giving it a go after my wife finds a job with medical coverage for us. I've thought about maverick or Boyd but I really just want to get out there and run my own business.

I was with them for 13 months and grossed over $167,000. Home every wkend except for 3 and all holidays. If ya dont run hard or arent pro active ya wont make any money. They fired me over my own mistakes. Got my own equip now and will be heading back.

i agree crst malone is not fro the company driver an what i mean is if u want sum1 to dispatch u stay company owner means jus that u take responsibility an make it r fail not sum1 else
-
just like any where else u must prove urself if u say i will be der den u better be der best if u get der b4 u say once u do that brokers will call u to see where ur at just find ur loads an deliver on time an u will do very well der the guys that dont r the guys that can tell u where every truck stop is in america keep ur door closed an do what u signed on to do move freight an be on time.

MI is a little out of my lanes but is one of Malone's strong market areas. Ohio and Indiana are also very good. I'm guessing you could do very well just running regional if you want. I'd advise you to buy a truck. You'll make much better money (as long as you don't need major repairs), you won't have to deal with the beauracracy much and if you decide CRST isn't for you, you can take your truck somewhere else instead of spending money on a lease and walking away with nothing. Aso, and I could be wrong about this, a lot of the new LP guys seem to get crappy trailers with no place to hang your chains and binders and no side boxes while owner/ops get the good ones. For 185.00 a week you oughta get a decent trailer.
MiFamilyGuy Thanks this.
