Volvo shimmy

    Working on a 2008 Volvo. Customer complaining of a shimmy, We had another Volvo month ago or so...it also had a shimmy. Inspected frt end and Bal Steer tires...tried new set of balanced brake drums...still shimmys. Is this a Volvo thing! Dealer says no!

    If they have air ride front axles, and the axle height is not set properly, it will wear tires in a goofy pattern, which will give a shimmy. But you will have the shimmy then until after the tires are replaced even if you fix the problem. A few years of Volvos had drag link problems. My Volvo likes to eat tie rod ends.
