I got a new power mirror for my 07 386 Pete. Mine did not originally come with one. So I can not get an original power mirror switch because Petebilt can not look up the part unless it was originally on my Vin#. Which totally blows btw.

If I could just get someone who has a 386 Pete with a power mirror that would let me borrow the last 6 of the vin so I can get the power mirror switch?
Or if you don't want to give the last 6 of the vin, call peterbilt and get the part # for the switch for me, that would work too.
I have an 07 with the rocker type switches Not the toggle switches. And I believe the mirror switch goes in the door right below the power window buttons on the driver's door? There is a blank there, But I'm not certain about that?

You can search the truckpaper, some truck seller list the vin number.

Thanks to SL3406 & johnnyreb0706 I have ordered the mirror switch from Peterbilt. At a Outrageous price of $174. But now my obsessive compulsive disorder has been suppressed for now.

    SHC and SL3406 Thank this.

I drive an '07 386. Just the right mirror is power. The rocker switch is on the door above the window rockers.

I always wonder why people need a power mirror, unless they slip-seat a truck, I don't see the point. Even when I had power mirrors, I never moved them. But as the OP stated, and I know one other guy on here is the same way, they have OCD I guess LOL

Well, they do come in real handy when backing in some very awkward places, especially on the blind side.

That makes sense. I never used mine for blindside backing, I just hopped out all the time and looked. My problem was keeping the mirror from moving when u didn't want it too. I ripped out the power mirror on my old IH and put a basic manual one in.

My buddy just bought a truck and it had manual mirrors on it and he was getting prices for adding power mirrors an he pulls a van. I asked him why he needed them since all he will ever see is the long white side of the barn and he laughed and decided not to order them. LoL

I have a spread axle step deck and I often have to get it some very tight places picking up equipment that I have to back up to in places most can not get a truck into, so every little bit of help I can get from a power mirror helps.
