Well you know, it always really was in my blood it was my first career choice as a kid. Should have done this 20 years ago instead of being a manager for all those years lol. Woulda saved myself alot of irritation although I do admit the money was 3 times what I make now.....although I'm doing pretty #### good now too compared to alot of folks.
As for Wednesday.....well I'll be in court dealing with the wife's moron ex......final hearing for all that mess. Going to stomp on him really hard and expose him for the ####### white trash lying loser he is.....all I know to tell him is you really shouldn't lie under oath when you go after a man....especially one with deep pockets and the willingness to reach deep into them to defend his character and integrity.......and once you go after his family then it gets personal and you get destroyed. I understand perjury in most cases is a felony. As he's going to find out.
As for Thursday? hehehe you may be right she is looking a little rough been running her hard hard hard lol

What does EPES pay for new drivers less than 1 year experience? What is their pet/rider policy, and finally, do they ever have anything going west of the Mississippi if you're willing to head out that way (I noticed on the website this tidbit: "West coast trips will be paid layover as outlined.")? Thanks in advance for any answers!
-
not sure what the starting pay scale is now a couple of guys i talked to thinking about coming in were quoted different numbers than i made first year so that may have changed.....Dinky came in with less than a year so maybe he can help you with that.
trips going west do exisit but most of them are run by a few dedicated teams from what i understand. i've picked up one in Va that was going to Ft Worth but had to bring it to the yard and drop for a team to run......one of the guys that came in with me ran a team run out to cali once but it was a one time thing.....don't think you'll be doing it as a solo but if you do it'll be rare.
in finally for vacation, what i'm going to get of one.
been a little slack posting but been a little preoccupied last 3 weeks going over documentation and transcripts for the upcoming hearing with the wife's moron ex. some way to spend 2 days of vacation but after i'm done with him he won't be an issue for a long long time.
running pretty hard still but truck has been sick and getting sicker. 2900, 3012, and 2600 last three weeks with a short one this week due to some screwed up live load/unloads that ended up giving me a 300/day average for 4 days straight.
been running the log down to nothing just about every day as usual.....and far too many days it's worked out after 9pm looking for parking.....running down to columbia 2 weeks ago and end up going to have about 45 minutes left when i get to the home depot and just a pilot there within parking distance....scales on 26 are open and backed up and of course lucky me gets the last spot in line before it becomes a line in the road....wait wait wait wait pull up a little at a time find out they're checking logs.....after 25 minutes in line roll up to the DOT cop sitting there in his chair and he sees my elog sticker and waves me on through.....what a waste of time....get there and rolling in relieved to see it looks like plenty of open spots in the pilot even as late as it is.....head on over, get swapped out and rolling back to the pilot and get in the lot with 8 minutes left and the place is filled with bobtails....fully 50% of those 'open' spots i saw from the road had a moron in a bobtail gumming it up......and of course, the bobtail lot was completely empty....that one irritates me to no end.....2230 now and resign myself to the fact i'm going to have to run it over by at least 30 minutes to get to the next parking i know of heading on route and end up taking a wrong turn trying to get onto 26 for 77 and end up on the frontage road.....rolling on down through there in the dark and suddenly a little no name truckstop appears on the frontage road with a largely (and large) empty lot.....#### i got lucky....pulled on in and shut down with 3 minutes left.....got up in the morning and went in and was pleasantly surprised to find that even though there was only one bathroom in the 'trucker's area'....it was large, had a large shower, and was clean. impeccably clean. i was impressed. marked that one on the gps and will for sure stop there if i need parking around columbia again.....
sutton, mass......if you go here you'll remember this one lol.....going in to the shipper is a 1 1/4 lane road with a line painted down the middle, cars parked on the right, and a tiny bridge right before the shipper marked 32T and they're going to load you to 45K with no name saran wrap going to costco......immdeiately after the lot for the shipper the road goes to one lane and straight uphill......about a 140 degree hook into the dock and you have to pull into the gravel parking lot across from them to back in and there's about a 8 degree crown on the road and potholes all in the parking lot.....i used to do road grading and a normal road has a 3 degree crown so the 8 degree is a real slope from crown to shoulder.....NO traction.....even with the axles locked you still had to eyeball the setup and the angle and then shoot the fuel to it and force your way across the potholes, over the crown and down the other side and into the dock.....a real one shot dock or you're hanging with the drives spinning and stuck lol......and oh, dont' forget the 15 ft dropoff all the way down the length of the right side 3 ft from the dock lane.....that one was loads of fun lol.....
couple of strange wrecks.....UPS in indiana on 65 managed to roll the rear trailer in a set but kept the front one and the tractor upright.......JB in between chambersburg and carlilse decided to make his own off ramp and go plow a cornfield with his trailer......slow as those guys are I still dont see how he got so far out into that field lol.....broke the back of the trailer.....no telling how long it took them to get that one out of there......
truck has been sick and getting sicker.....think the check engine light is standard equipment on the volvo once it gets to 150k and 150 short of 200k now....i keep writing it up and they keep putting a sensor or some other electro gizmo on it and turning the light out and i get 2-300 miles out and the light comes on yet again......power is WAY down and fuel consumption is way up. having to drop at least one and sometimes 2 gears just to pull a hill with an empty and having to get into low range now to get up a hill with a load......heading up to roanoke the other day i was all the way down to 3rd creeping up the hill......now granted, there's some good pulls on 220 but i've never had to get that far down in the gears to make it up even with 44-45k in the box. hard to start and very rough idle, especially coming off idle. last time i had it in the guy working on it told me there was a recall item on the injectors but it was a big fix and the top half of the engine basically had to come apart. going in to the shop in the morning and have a heart to heart with tommy and let him know i don't care what they have to do to it they just need to do it and stop putting ####### band aides on it that fall off as soon as i leave the shop.
will reach the 200,000 mile mark within a day or two when i go back out. they've been running me that's for sure. not bad numbers for what will be 17 months when i go back out.
yesterday and today was a strange one as well.....sitting in perryville after my drop waiting on the load in and DM calls.....he was in on saturday and had me drag my empty from perryville all the way down to roanoke rapids to kapstone......going to drop tthat one there bounce across 95 to lowes and pick up another empty and come on in for vacation. if you've been into kaptsone you know the chick there that inspects the trailers and she's pretty thorough but usually no issues with her.....celadon guy in there in front of me and he's pissed and short on time and really ruined her evening with his mouth and his attitude so she was not inclined to let any small thing go......rejected my trailer for one small nail hole in the floor that went all the way through that took a flashligh and her on her knees to find.....not that she didn't look good on her knees like that but she could have at least made it worth it for making my day harder just because the jack ### in front of me made her mad. so called martin and told him they still needed to get another trailer in there and he was liek don't worry about it plenty of other customers needing trailers just bring it on in......so i drug an empty just over 500 miles to get in for vacation.....
i'm sure i'll think of some other things that happened over the last few weeks but those are the ones that stand out just sitting here right now -
I've got a brand new cobra platinum 7750 truck GPS for sale too.......
used one month, in the box, with charger, mount and usb connector for the computer, never registered.
my RM710 was dying a slow death and just due to my disdain for the power connector on it decided to try the cobra and ran them side by side for a month until the RM died for good. i'm real resitant to change and decided i like the RM software and map format better so i went and got a 720 so i'm letting the cobra go cheap if anybody wants it.
$320.24 on the receipt i'll take 250 for it. if anyone wants it PM me we can get together and work it out.
it's a good unit....., nice big HD screen, doesn't bounce around on the mount like the RM does and the power connector sure is a lot better design than the RM but i've just gotten used to the RM product. -
Freddie...about 6 months ago I started at around .32 CPM and will end up around .35 CPM at end of first year! The pay ALWAYS starts out at .32 CPM for less than one year experience! But, with the NE runs....it'll be more like .39 CPM! VERY WORTH IT! Flying, what kind of GPS did you get? I have a Magellan! GOD I LOVE THAT THING! LOL Well, on my phone it's Co-Pilot Truck....same thing! Never used the Cobra's but did use the Rand Macnally at USA with the trainers I was with....#### thing got us lost 90% of the time. One trainer NEVER updated it.....but he already knew the roads, been driving for over 20 years. And the other one was a redneck from Kentucky that lost all of his teeth smoking crystal me................sorry, drinking Mountain Dew! lol yeah, that's what he'd say....but you could tell by his nerves and smoking habit that he was either on crack or crystal meth. I have a friend that CONSTANTLY drinks GALLONS of MD and still has all of his teeth! Well, my beautiful DM sent me up here to "Frankenstorm" NJ! It's not that bad, YET! I guess I'll wait until the morning to see. Up in Pitman, so you guys know I have a place to chill....but nowhere to take a good dump, which I need in the morning, more than anything! lol Bags get old! lol And kinda smells your cab up! LMAO! Good thing I stopped by the cigar shop yesterday and got 2 GREAT cigars! Found out Cubans are no longer good cigars. Turns out, all the best growers have moved to other nations, since the economy, etc. has just gone completely sour down there....Nicaraguan cigars are the #1 now. MAN ARE THEY GOOD TOO!!!! Kinda funny smoking one going up 95 this afternoon and people asking on the CB if I was smoking a cigar.....said "Hell yeah...and at $10.50 a pop they sure are good!!!!" lol someone said...."EPES is making that money!" I don't think I am this Friday with the lack of miles I got....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! But, we'll see by Tuesday, I guess! But, I did make a great paycheck this past Friday and voted early, so figured, WTH! lol Although wife can't stand cigars, much less me smoking cigarettes....I got her a nice bottle of wine at the shop and that pretty much made up for it.

Finally finished my training time with EPES!!!!
I went through two trainers but finally tested out on Friday morning.
I met my DM and got my truck, # 20039
The truck is in pretty good condition.
The last driver that had it quit EPES and left the truck in Morristown TN.
He cleaned it up pretty well, no trash in it and the best part is that he must not have been a smoker, it didn't smell like an ashtray.
Finally I have some control in the truck, I control the radio, I control the temperature!!! YAY!!!
First trainer kept it cold enough to hang meat in the truck and the second one didn't seem to like any kind of ventilation, very stuffy most of the time.
Both trainers loved country music, I do not.
I had my MP3 player with me and cranked up some Pink Floyd for the ride home.
I had to hitch a ride with another driver to the Morristown TN yard to pick up the truck.
By some strange coincidence there also just happened to be a loaded trailer in Morristown that needed to be delivered to Lowes in Statesville on Saturday.
I dropped the truck and trailer off at the Claremont yard Friday night, called someone to pick me up and went home for the night.
Claremont yard is about 25 miles from the house.
I ran the load to Lowes on Saturday for the 1400 appointment.
No emptys available so I bobtailed back to Claremont.
My DM said to go home for the weekend after the drop and to call in on Monday when ready to go out. -
Your name fits PERFECTLY

Freddie , dinky is correct. The payscale goes up quick. Rider policy is in place, like 20$ a month for insurance . No pet policy , I found a 2012 truck with extentive damage from a large dog last week. Pm me with any more questions.
-
$43 and some change a month for the rider insurance.

But if I go north, all roads are closed. And the Del Mem Bridge is closed. Guess it's a good thing I got some extra movies to chill and watch today!losttrucker Thanks this.
