actually it seams to be less overall peoples coming out versus before and its just revving up again
pay and hrs are down cause of competition, pipelines coming online, and just generally everyones learning how to be more cost efficient.drivers are making 20-30% less, thats huge when before you'd scam 2500 or more a week
those new transload operations for oil tankers are springing up all over
short multi trips from point a-b, less drivin and much more loading frequency for many
ps:colds a coming, bitter wind blowing out in williston other night bout froze me over..brrr..

Most Crude haulers are hiring. BUT, a few are having troubles finding contracts. Talked to a guy yesterday at Savage Rail and he said he was getting only one load a day. (=4-6 hours)
The company I work for is bringing on 9 new double bottom trucks by the end of the year. Concord Energy is looking for drivers. New guys can expect 8k and up per month. Plus bonuses. 100k per year easy for a first year noobie. :). But, a lot of companies are going on a new rotation getting ready for the July HOS changes. YMMV

Just reading through on a challenge to these hos rules, very likely the most sweeping ones will be held hostage for a while in court by ATA, especially the new reset rules for taking 34 hrs off and lunch break requirements during 1st 8hrs of driving or on duty. There is too many agencies that want these ,the courts will most likely let them stand, but looks to be a while yet, have to ad in,the ATA has shown always to be just a self serving entity for these trucking giants, they have allowed dac for instance to become a monster, manipulating our employment records, despite the decades long complaints, but quickly step in when profits are threatened, some of their owners are said to be prior convicted with various crimes, same ones that disclude the common driver from working, all saying is HOS rules do suck in a way,but seeing these guys heading the bunch protesting them just makes me want to puke

cr england one comes to mind, news story while back, manipulating the payout facts with their O/O fleet.and in the 90's they were supposedly known to consistently and illegally push their drivers in hos, hear thats ended, all forgiven right? there is a host of %^&#^& on all these guys, statute of limitations on record keeping probably only thing saving them from public embarrassment.
there were others, if check closely, find all sorts of 'fun facts'.
good example:Navaho truck lines? understand same family involved with atleast 1/2 dozen other transportation companies in past, kinda weird
