12 feet tide surges anticipated, watch the low country bridges and try to get high and dry before sunset.

I hope you are taking necessary precautions? 20 miles inland on a direct hit can bust windows and do roof damage. I would of evacuated but it's too late now. If it gets too bad get in the center of the house in hopefully a bathroom or closet. Many will get in a tub and cover themselves with a mattress. Category 1's aren't the worse but you don't know how well the house is built either. If the house isn't over 20-30 years old it should have hurricane clips on the roof and you'll be okay.

Stay safe and stay in touch so we know you are alright.

Can't disagree that it has been ordered--BUT--no one is reporting on it--just got back from a 40 mile round trip to help neighbor w/cattle--and the traffic is lite--But trucks on I78-US22-US22 and I476--
    More to follow

I watched Al this morning. He was stumbling and acting like he was leaning into the wind. Meanwhile the waves were still about 3' and the plants around him were barely moving. You could tell he was improvising a little. I like to see him stand out there now.
