1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

We've lived in Florida for six years ( moved here from Michigan ) and I'd like to know where you found all those "good companies" here ? :biggrin_25511: The going wage here is between $7. and $12. per hour, not what I consider good . Local driving opportunities are very limited unless you want to pull a rock bucket for $10/$11 an hour . And now with building slowing down many companies are going to pecentage pay to cut costs ... Think long and hard before you make your move ! Good luck !

I'm not interested in being dedicated with TMC. The steel dedicated has slowed down, we lost the MACSTEEL account for which those covered wagons were pulling freight, now they just run around hauling random stuff, those drivers are averaging about 60 dollars a day.

Uhm... As far as the lumber with daycabs / bensons, that's a home depot account which REALLY slows down alot this time of year, most of our drivers that are on that dedicated fleet change back to over-the-road drivers during the winter months in order to make any decent money.

If i'm going to drive for TMC it might as well be over-the-road... I was looking for something hourly, for the most part. Thanks again for all your suggestions guys!
