I am scheduled to start orientation with Swift next Tuesday (I also considered Schneider National, Werner, US Xpress, Star Transportation) but I have heard that Swift governs their trucks at 62 but if you go over 64 (like going down a hill) you will get in trouble for that. Is that true? I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

64 is overspeed, the way they are Setup You can run downhill all day at 65. It wont count regular overspeed as long as your not touching the Pedal.

If governed at 62, and you hit 65 coasting, that isn't much leeway. At Roehl, my truck was set at 63 and I didn't get a qualcomm alert until I hit 70. At 75, termination.

Yes, that concerns me, IF it is true. Or would I be better of going with a different company??

it's really not that big a deal ! just pay attention. Heck I came down into Denver with no jakes and I didn't get even talked to about it. it's when you just run completely out of line that you have trouble. they are sensible about it

Most mega-carriers operate the same way. If the trucks are governed and you go over the governed speed for a certain percentage of time then you will get disciplined for it. At this particular stage in your driving career I would not be concerned with this issue. Learn how to drive first, then learn how to break the rules...
