Sitting at the Petro on I-81 at Exit 29 in Va and it is pouring down the snow. NWS is calling for 6-12 inches of this crap by wed morning. Drivers are saying the roads are getting slick and nasty. Glad I stopped a couple of hours ago when it first started snowing and didn't try to make it another 50-60 miles up to Wythville.

My new assignment is another 1k load into northeastern PA. Picks up tomorrow morning.

I'm still going to end up driving across 80 and straight into the storm.

My only concern is that I won't be able to pick up this load. I looked the place up and they manufacture the small Coleman Propane cylinders. These are being delivered direct to a Walmart DC. Since they are direct to the DC they must already be filled. That would then make it a HazMat load which I can't haul because I never got my HazMat. Support Shift insists it isn't HazMat. Yet in the Remarks for the work assignment it says "ALL LOADS ARE HAZMAT". So we'll see what happens.

If the load is 1,000 then you shouldn't need a hazmat to haul it. double check with your dm or someone at the pick up to make sure though. I'm still trying to figure out road conditions through VA this morning and everyone on the radio has something different to say so who knows.

The weight will be heavy on the propane load and they are all Hazmat they always have been. Id call ahead and ask the shipper. then call Dm and let them take you off load. I wouldnt want to get to shipper and not get load and then be stuck there because of storm.

Well I was right. Got here and it was a HazMat Load. I even called in last night to check and they said it wasn't and to go ahead and pick it up. So far in the day and a half I've been back from TAH I've had 50 miles Bobtail and 150miles Deadhead. Great use of time and fuel right there.

If you are running I-64 or I-77 through WV they already have 2 feet of snow down and are expecting another foot around Beckley. I didn't go that way but I've heard the roads are a disaster. Might want to avoid there today.

I wouldnt trust support shift. their job is to get you off the phone. In the future ask for their name and their supervisors name, write that down. These people need to be accountable for their NONaction in "support" of our drivers.

A load like that will of course be filled. load info should have also stated what the total weight is supposed to be.

Your DBL needs to be accountable for your slow start ESPECIALLY for being sent on a HM load without that endorsement.
