I go to orientation M-Thur. , Dot physical and computer training and then get uniforms on Monday. I might have read it but are you already working for Averitt ? I had DOT Physical already but I guess they do one anyway.

Bigmike we have had another change of plans , they set up training out of Lawrenceville ,Ga. terminal. They have definitely put forth extra effort on getting me as close to home as possible. I hope I comtinue to feel as good as I do so far , its a far cry from the crap I was dealing with from other company recruiters . Be safe , headed to orientation sunday!!!

Yea i've been with averitt before i was able to drive a truck for them. I started out doing part-time dock and got my CDL with averitt then im going now to go for Full-time Dispatch. I'll be there monday afternoon to meet up with safety guy to drive around cookeville because my supervisor wanted me to get signed off with him just incase I need to do some ltl runs. My first real day at orientation is Tuesday where I will be doing dock-computer systems then Wednesday Im there with the drivers to go over some driver stuff. Im doing that just because i want too not because i have too. Originally they only needed me there one day but if im going to drive 6 hours up there im going to get as much as I can done while im there for future transitions. I don't have to take a DOT physical because i've had averitt DOT physical done within the last year. Im going to call and see if I can get a room to myself because I have sleep apnea and I have to wear the machine and it can be a little loud. If you like we should trade phone numbers so we can meet up while were there.

Had a great weekend at home then left out last night to finish off a load to the Atlanta area. My transmission has been giving me fits when I first get started after a 10 hour break. Ended up doing it yesterday when I left Chattanooga and again this morning. Ended up going to our Fulton SC and they found 3 transmission related parts that needed to be replaced. That took about 8 hours. Now I am fixed up and ready to roll. Problem is...no loads available until in the morning. At least I will have had a good nights rest and a fresh clock to boot.

While in the drivers break area I got to visit with two newer Averitt drivers and they are loving it here. Both figured the recruiters would be feeding them BS and after orientation the crap storm would start. You get that at so many trucking companies. They both have had very similar experiences with Averitt as well. Glad to hear it.

Well I met up with jab trucker today at orientation and he is a great guy am I expect him to be a good asset to the team. He's eager to learn more about averitt and he's excited to get out and drive. I officially go to orientation tomorrow but I had to meet up with safety to do a driving test to get 2 more points on my record to max me out. Laying here in bed at the hotel and I'm going to bed!

Got a load assignment to Richmond, VA that delivers tomorrow morning. I am playing the waiting game here at FUL. The trailer should arrive by around noon. That's what I am hoping anyway. Let them truckers roll...10-4.

Made it to our Richmond yard. I was going to go all the way to the customer but the guy in receiving I talked to said, "You can park here overnight but I wouldn't unless I had to. We aren't in a very nice part of town." Since the yard is 11 miles from my delivery I decided secure was better. After delivery tomorrow I will head over to Norfolk and pick up a load and tug it to Dublin, GA. Enough time to get it there with a 10 hour break. So glad these loads of late haven't been so tight time wise.

Well, as I was sitting at my customer this morning my next load cancelled out on me. They sent another one going to the Norfolk yard and picking up a trailer and delivering it a few miles down the road. I hope they find something to follow that up as my miles this week are suffering greatly. Spending a whole day in the shop didn't help, but if things stay the way they are this will be my worst miles week with Averitt. I'd be looking at a total of about 700 miles so far. Yikes.
