lilrobby, I installed it myself, with a helper. I used the bracket that vuqube sells. It took about 2 hours to install it on the back of the sleeper on my volvo 780. The hardest part of the install was removing the upper bunk cabinets and lining to be able to access the mounting bolts and to route the wires properly. I just use a regular Sharp lcd t.v. from sams club. BTW I just followed the directions to leave 4" above the sleeper and have only found one place where I could not get a signal and that was parked under a tree.

I had one and sold it for little of nothing because always lousy reception. And terrible customer service from Dish Network. Had to call Dish customer support almost every time I wanted to use it. Because if you do not turn on the unit for a few weeks, they drop to code for your receiver so you have to call and convince them to send another tick.
I'll never have Dish again, all because of the lousy customer service. Also they kept taking to much money out of my checking with direct billing. I should've never gave them my account number.

Here is a tip related to your problem mentioned above. I know it isn't going to help you now, but it may help someone reading this post who does have a mobile satellite dish.

If it has been several weeks since you turned on your receiver the satellite provider (Dish, Direct, bell, etc) may "deauthorize" that receiver card in their system.

When this happens, you need to "Reauthorize or sometimes called Re-Hit" the receiver with the authorization code. Direct TV makes this something you can do yourself online, but I last I heard, Dish Network still makes you call in and have them do it. Hopefully they will do what Direct does at some point. This process is what Flightline is referring to above.

If you use a computer and have DirectTV, then I highly recommend that you sign up on their site for online access to your bill and your channels, and your EQUIPMENT. Once you do that, the process to reauthorize any receiver in your account is simple. Just sign into your account using any computer, click on "My Equipment" and then click "Reauthorize Online" to send the re-hit command to that receiver. Of course, you need to be aligned on the signal with your satellite antenna when you do this. It only takes a few seconds and your channels come back.

Just a tip and clarification for all who are not aware of this.

So align the satellite, then go online, set up the account everytime.
If I'm paying my bill, why can they not just leave it on, like Direct TV.

One of the old "hacks" for Dish was to disconnect the receiver before cancelling service. Dish would transmit the shutdown signal intermittently for ~6 months and then stop. If you would then hook the receiver back up, it would "remember" its subscription and keep decoding those channels.

Apparently the firmware in the newer receivers is set to "forget" its programming after a week of no signal so that doesn't happen anymore.

Question from team drivers. Will this work when the truck is in motion and the team member in the sleeper wants to watch tv ?

The VuCube circuitry is not designed to continually track as the base rotates and goes up and down as it does while driving on a winding road. Also, it is not designed to stand much shock and vibration abuse and a VuCube mounted up high will be subjected to radical abuse on the road.

They make RV/Bus dishes that are designed for in-motion use, but the VuCube isn't one of them.

If you want something that works in motion, then you need something like the Winegard DuraSAT in-motion model. MSRP is $1199.
