This reminds me... My girl can't remember the term lot lizard. So she (and from now on, so do I) calls them "parking lot chickens!"
-
If you want her to remember it then do a search for the song Lizzy the lot Lizard. It is an old one by L'il Brother Trucker. Funny album. I use to have a bunch of his stuff 20 years ago. Do not listen with children around they are all rather graphic. Actually, anyone on the road may get a kick out of his old stuff.
Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
Hi, Will someone explain to me what the 34 hour restart is? Does a trucker have to take this every week or something?
-
The 34 hr restart resets the 70 hrs you are allowed to drive in 8 days time... If you budget your time you can run on your recaps and never have to do a restart... And some run that way. Others run full out, burning up their clock then take a 34 to reset their clock just to do it all again.
-
i don't make any money unless i'm burning up my hours.
and since i'm usually home. what better way to do my 34.
-
Explain "recaps"...please!
-
Recaps is what time rolls over on the 8th day from day 1. For instance, you drive 9.5 hours on day one, at midnight on day 8, that 9.5 hours rolls over and you can drive that on day 8. Then whatever hours you drive on day 2 will roll over on day 9 etc. Clear as mud?
-
@snowshoes, how come my qualcomm dont figure it that way?
-
I don't know. Mine does...as long as I log it like I drive it. If I would stop and my qualcomm would put me on line 4 9Which happens if I accidentally forget to go to line 1) , I have to send a log request to put it on line 1. of course unless I am fueling, then it goes to line 4 once I swipe my fuel card.
