There are not many trucks that can legally run side pipes, like this. At no point can the exhaust run under the fuel filler caps. Mine come out to the sides about 6 inches behind the caps. CPL Robinson, of the Idaho State Police and I learned that from a Federal man, on September 12, 2001. That was the only time we've ever had a problem. I did have a Virginia Trooper ask where my mufflers were, one time. I pointed to the muffler guards and said, right behind them.
It's all 6 inch. The mufflers are Donaldson straight thru. It does rumble.
How many $ do you put into an old truck?

I got inspected in ID once about 20 years ago. The trooper went around and checked if I had a cap on every valve stem, but completely missed the BROKEN leaf in the middle of the stack on a Hendrickson Long Leaf suspension.

Me personally will never by a truck with any emission crap what so ever. Right now I have the last truck I will ever own, I will just continue to rebuild and if something happens to the truck then I will fully retire, hell I'm almost there now any ways
Semi Crazy Thanks this. -
Many are just annoying unedumacated idiots with testicle fortitude (the badge). They don't really even know what to look for other than a few select things.

8.6mpg! Nice! Is that a Mercedes engine then? the MBE4000? And does the engine have a lot to do with the fuel economy? What size engine is it?

Yea mine's an 05 MBE as well. I hear people ##### about them all the time, but mines been awesome. I think that in 05' nothing came close to Mercedes is fuel economy and reliability.
