Choice O/O AND L/O Can you give some numbers please

it all depends on what you get and how it is set up, 120 for a bare bones basic truck 145ish for a nice equipped truck plus FET and sales tax and all the other fun stuff

 

that was my understanding also. but others came along and said otherwise.

 

I am an IC Choice driver at Schneider. I do pretty good and clear $1800+ a week after expenses without working too hard. Keep in mind though that I bought a used truck and my payment is $1300 a month. I couldn't see paying $800 a week without busting your hump and never taking home time. I don't work that hard, frequently take 7-10 days off at a time. All trucks breakdown but I would rather someone else take the huge depreciation hit. I will come along at 500,000 miles and take it off your hands for $30-35K and laugh. Unless you buy a complete pile from a fleet that doesn't maintain their trucks, you should get a million plus miles out of the truck before needing an in frame or simply getting another truck.

Bottom line is that I gross $4000-$3500 a week when I work, more if I try harder. 2500-3000 miles a week. You can do the math from there and see if it works for you. I live in southeast Kansas. Rates vary by location, northeast and midwest have decent rates but you give and take. Freight to Northeats pays good, getting out is cheap. Same for Texas and Florida. Try to average $1.40+ and you will do fine. It's important not to just focus on rates but also miles too. $600-700 a day and you will be in decent shape.
