Gotcha beat....office furniture warehouse on the north side of boston. The docks used by the OTR trucks left just enough space between the nose of the truck and the fence to allow another truck to driver through, and I mean just enough space. The other end, where the local driver loaded, had more than enough room of course.
Yeah, I actually paid a dedicated driver who hit those docks all the time to back my truck into place for unloading. After busting tail for 11 hours straight to get there on time, I was in no condition to even attempt the manuever. I was so tired I couldn't even see straight, much less back straight.
Another reason why flatbedders rule? Cause we're tough enough to, that's why! You spend a couple of weeks throwing chains and fighting tarps, you pretty darned tough. That's why the ladies love skateboarders! -
Yeah I've jacked in some docks where that's the only way how to hit the dock. As long as the trl was straight then didn't matter about the truck. To where the cab of the truck is out in traffic type space. I don't think there's are space I can't get into and if a girl hasn't been around the lifestyle probably could care less what you do as far as stretching tarps or closing doors. The avg folk probably think its all the same. I respect the job that flatbedders do but doesn't make u tougher just dirtier
skyviper73 Thanks this. -
I saw one of those real drivers just the other day pulled over by DOT because the cows were coming unstrapped on the fladbed!Ultra7 Thanks this. -
He nailed the rear hooves, but forgot the front and he only had 2 straps per cow instead of the necessary 2 straps and 1 chain per cow. I guess he'll learn for next time!
