I checked it and found no air leaks at the fan clutch, however I didnt have any soapy water to test with that I just did a feel test.

Was the fan hub released? Could you rotate the fan when feeling for a leak?

check the fan clutch while engine is running. soap the area good, the start the engine & watch all the little bubbles around the fan clutch.

The fan was spinning, and soaped it up good and found nothing for air leaks around the fan clutch

Had the same problem with my 2004 Volvo recently....There is a air junction block back of the transmission area where several different airlines plug in to provide air for different components. The junction block was cracked and allowing air to leak off. Might want to have this checked.

No one mention to R/R the air GOVERNER. It's a cheap fix. Just putting my 2 pennies. But I don't have a Volvo.......

I have a leaking problem also,mine leaks for the Solenoid Mounting base ,on x brace behind cab,does any one know how to fix this,other than a match?
