I read one other comment on hear about a guy that had a 2005 Peterbilt 379 that had a problem with the sleeper interior light kept coming on by itself. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I have a 2005 Pete as well, I bought the truck with only 186,000 miles on it and it has been an awesome truck expect for the light in the sleeper problem, which just started about 5 months ago. Now I also have a problem with my fan switch in the sleeper, its not blowing air out of the back. Long story short I've ripped all the siding apart in the closet area and no wires look bad or anything, fuses are good, relays are working.... Not really sure what to think about the whole thing. Any help with any similar problems would be greatly appreciated!! I wonder if it is a 2005 379 problem? THANKS!!

Have you checked to make sure the blower motor for the bunk is getting power or not? It's under the bed on the drivers side.

I have checked the power going to the blower motor, what's really strange is when the bunk switch is off there is power to the motor but it doesn't run and if the switch is on there is no power to the motor?? Anyway that's the story so far

Better call George on Coast to Coast. Maybe your truck is possessed. LOL

Hahahaha!! That's what my buddy kept telling me especially when the sleeper light was turning on in the middle of the night by itself!!

I had a similar (not exact) acting '05 T-600, I too pulled everything out (including most of my hair) and everything checked fine, out of desperation I unplugged BOTH large red cables going into the low voltage cut off and plugged them into each other and all of my electrical demons in the bunk went away.

I have had the same problem with my truck also. It is older but the principles are the same. Had power to to the blower but no operation. Found that the bunk relay for the unit is ground switching. Cleaned the connections on the relay and all was good.
Now with what I have read, with having power to the heater till the rear heat is on, I would look into the relay having a bad connection.
WTH, easy to diag over the internet, but in person it is very trying.

Look in the dash for melted connections had a 08 Pete do the same thing with the bunk light coming on by itself ended up being a corroded and melted connection in the dash going to the bunk light switch on the dash. A leaking windshield was the root cause of the problem.

Cool thanks for the help, I ended up checking the connectors that link the power from the cab to the sleeper behind the passenger side seat and found that the connection there was bad, it had become all corroded and stuff. Anyway I cleaned it and popped it back together and it works great!! Thanks for all the advice and help makes mechanic work 10 times easier!!
