I been driving on my own with usa for 5 months now and went through driver solutions. I've went through hell and back with this company. I know i suppose to finish a year to be done with the contract but is there anyway to leave before and get with another company and payback out of pocket? I have like $3000 saved up so that could help start paying back. This company sucks. I've had over 20 breakdown issues with 2 different trucks. (Also trailers since every driver leaves the problems for the next guy which is me a lot of times) i haven't got home on time once since I've been here. I was averaging about 1700 miles a week before 2 weeks ago. I've actually a decent week this week. (2772 miles) i hadn't had any accidents or evening dot problems. Csa score is still 0. I just want to be done with this place and start new somewhere. I have no problem paying driver solutions back. Just seeing who has quit before contract is up and how you do it? Also seeing if anyone else hires you after you do get out of contract? I know this is trucking but I'm 4th generation trucker and have been told by my dad and grandpa that I've had a really bad start. They want me to find another company cause averaging $ 300 or less a week is not worth staying out 4 to 5 weeks at a time. I've had 3 different fms. (Either fired or promoted) they all have been terrible with communication and getting me running. I've been on time everytime and have a clean record so can someone please help me out? Thanks

I went to C-1 Drivers Solutions in Indy back in 2005 then started working for Star in Morton,IL. That lasted 2 weeks and found new job no problem. Its not a big deal to break contract. I pay them back $50 a month until its paid off.
Don`t SWEAT it, get out now and sign with better company. The extra money more than pays for breaking the contract.4thgenerationtommy Thanks this. -
Thanks for the post! I know a lot of people do it but I've talked to 5 companies now and none of them will hire me cause I'm in contract. I've heard you have to quit then wait a month to find another company which is fine i have a cushion to last me but i just want to make sure a decent company will hire me if i do leave

Start putting in apps NOW! Don't tell them you have a training contract just put in the app. If they ask then tell em. Or just quit USA will eventually get ahold of you. DO NOT USE UP THAT $3000 to pay them UNLESS you can work a discount. You'll most likely be better off keeping the 3Gs and pay em $25 a week. They'll whine about but it's better than nothing!

I left USA after about 5 months solo as well...Same exact problems. I went to USXpress which wasn't that much better, but I at least got miles and made decent money. I'd go back there way before I would even consider USA. I still owe USA and get phone calls from their collection agency daily. They won't give up, and I feel I was lied and shafted over some money while I was there, so I just stopped paying them. They'll eventually stop calling. Either way, I had no problem getting on at USX. I called their recruiting department, they told me I was good to go, then I left USA and went to orientation the next week.
Just be sure if you leave, you have a good job lined up. Job hopping is bad in this industry. I'm not a good example of that, and just have been lucky, that there was a position that they desperately needed filled at Averitt, where I am now. This place is awesome. I have the best FM's and get to do what I want pretty much. No staying out 4-5 weeks at a time to get 4-5 days home. I stay out a week and come home on the weekend. Or I run out west and get home during the week and stay home 1-4 days, depending on how busy we are.4thgenerationtommy Thanks this.
