Ok first of all I am very young so companies don't expect me to have a lot of history..... But I have a few questions. I have worked a lot of different part time jobs along with my full time jobs in the last 5 years. And I start trucking school soon and they say I need to make a resume with my work history for the companies I'm applying to and don't leave any gaps.... Ive had 3 serious jobs since then that have lasted a year a piece and the other 5 were second jobs some temp and seasonal that I've worked on and off for extra cash.....and I'm 22.... And I don't remember the exact dates to any of them.... Just The month and year...... I've finally found my career after all this time. I've driven a straight truck for 13 months now and love it. But I have now just left to start trucking school next week. The reason why is because I'm chasing the money... Anyways now that you know my background here are m questions.... 1.does it matter if the dates on my application are exact? Do companies freak out? 2.do they just look at the jobs you put down? Or can they view everywhere that you have worked by some background check? I just really don't want these companies to see the immature job hoping I've done in my teen years. I'm married now with bills. I'm just trying to make a better life for myself. I have a almost spotless history. Criminal history is completely spotless I have one wreck on my mvr from 4 years ago. There is no speeding tickets. I'm just wondering if these companies need to know my entire work history.... I don't even remember some of it.... Could I get by just naming the main ones? And are 1-2 week gaps bad?

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

The basic thing they are looking for is that you haven't been fired for theft, drug use, poor work attendance, poor work performance, etc, so if they are looking to hire reliable workers, they will most likely call everywhere you've worked recently. They assume gaps are intentional omissions and they'd like to know why. Some carriers take background checking very seriously and spends lots of man-hours doing this, others not so much.

month and year is all I do. can't remember much else.lol
put it all down. if there are gaps, before you got married, just say you didn't work. they get all kinds at trucking schools. people with DUI's, major wrecks, serious felons.
you'll be fine. -
Most companies wont bother too much with job hopping as a teenager. They understand that most times its a part time job due to school and such. They will want to know if you left under good terms or if you got fired though. The job hopping usually becomes a no no after you get out of school and start working full time. They want to see that you are reliable and they wont waste money training you just for you to quit within a month or 6.
For the gaps, you'd just write unemployed. They want to know every month since your first job. -
Generally a three year job history is all you need, to start, but to your question of can they see everywhere you have worked, the answer is... if they want to. Tax records exist, if you received a W-2 or a 1099 from an employer, they can find out.
They will not know how much you made or any other personal info, but they can find out you worked there. -
month and year should be fine and when it comes to gaps just put in an explanation that you were in school or whatever just don't LIE ! that will kill you right out of the gate . they can and most will look at all of your background

Yep, I have worked quite a few jobs that required fairly extensive background checks. All I ever provided was month and year and have not had any issues, i'm not even sure my months were all that accurate...
