See and this is one reason why they Can't force them upon everybody. You can not tell people with older trucks to scrap them and go buy newer. They can not be mandated for new trucks but not required for older ones. If they only mandate them for company's that have proven they can not control thier drivers or dispatchers then okay but the last I heard they WERE TRYING TO MANDATE THEM UPON EVERYONE? And if this is the case then they can't force people to update their trucks. Just what I am thinkin... But along with you I guess I am wrong sometimes....![]()
Do you feel elogs should be mandatory or optional?

Once upon a time when the world was young, there were no roads.
Then the gods said 'let there be roads' and it was good.
Then the gods said 'I am unhappy, my roads are missing something... vehicles. And it was good'.
Then man came along and began driving the vehicles on the roads and things began to goto hell because he didnt have the sense to self-regulate effectively, and the gods said 'It's time do something about it' and thus the road to mandatory EOBR's were started. And it was good.
Why? Because there were too many people driving illegally... Rules are 'mostly' there for a reason, and sometimes it's to keep the dummies from doing REALLY DUMB stuff.
Mainly it'll keep people from doing things that are 'too dumb' because we're afraid of the consequences of what happens if we get caught.
-The EOBRs 'hopefully' make our driving playing-field more transparent for accountability.
-And yes there's the potential for abuse blah blah blah... EOBR's are coming. -
: sarcasm: sure and while they are at it why not regulate the number of pieces of TP can be used for #1 and #2! : end sarcasm:
Short Answer: NO!

in all honesty, and i am not trying to sound haughty, but 0-1yr of driving leads me to believe you just came out of school and were taught elogs and you were told how wonderful they are and how in two years everyone is going to have it and only "outlaw" drivers use paper logs
i may be wrong
i'm just sayin -

There are Government mandates on tires, just ask the manufacturers. They are not allowed to sell you tires that do not meet Government specs.
There are Government regs on the tires we run, also. Read the regs, in them you will find a mandate that prevents us from running regrooved tires on the steer axle of a truck and recapped tires on the steer axle of a passenger bus.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
